Uniqlo, a popular Japanese clothing store, has been revealed as the next store to be a part of the upcoming refurbished Westgate Centre.
A Uniqlo spokesperson has said, "We only recently announced our plans to expand into the Westgate centre and we couldn't be any more excited. The store will span across 870 square metres and will offer clothing items for men and women, as well as children and babies."
Westgate Centre is a £440 million development and is set to open its doors once again on the 24th of October. One of the main attractions of this shopping centre is the 140,000 square-foot John Lewis store which will be accompanied by many favourites - Ted Baker, H&M, Victoria's Secret, Hugo Boss, and many others.
Other retail stores will include Smashbox, Body Shop, JD Sports, Oxford, Mini Velvet, Accessorize, Aveda, and Lush.
On top of these names, we will see the popular Curzon Cinemas making an appearance at the new shopping centre. The cinema will be accompanied by several restaurants, all of which will be a part of the new rooftop terrace.
Earlier in August, we saw announcements from LK Bennett and Reiss stating that they too would be opening stores in the new Westgate Centre.
Crown Estate and Land Securities are co-owners of the new and improved shopping centre. Land Securities' Senior Portfolio Manager, Emma Mees, has stated, "Over the last few years we have seen an increase in retail demand in Oxford. Oxford is a tourist hotspot and on top of that, the crowds that we see while shopping are simply ecstatic."
"We plan on recreating this atmosphere in Westgate Centre and will be doing all that we can to make sure that there's something for everyone here. Whether you're looking to spend an afternoon at the cinema or you're trying to expand your wardrobe, Westgate Centre will fulfil your needs.", Emma continued.
