Tayside Co-op is launching and it will benefit the local community to a great extent.
The new range of food stores will start operations from 2nd March in Alyth's Market Street and they have already made an investment of a whopping £500,000 and as a result, they have provided employment opportunities to six people.
Also, to benefit the local community, they will donate 1% of their own brands and services sold.
Similar to Tayside Co-op, the other players in the industry include One Voice Volunteer Group Association, Blairgowrie Tennis Club and Blairgowrie Rattray along with District Pipe Band.
There will also be a bakery inside the store and it will be based on different meal ideas, fresh foods and you can also shop for everyday essentials.
When we spoke to Veronica McLean, the store manager, she expressed how the co-op is dedicated in transforming and growing their convenience business and with the new store opening in Alyth, the entire team is excited and looking forward to cater to the needs of the customers.
The area manager of Co-op, George Ezady also expressed the vision of co-op of helping the local community and their members will also be doing their bit by using their membership card while shopping with them and this will help in benefitting the local community.
