The scone cake and coffee was nice but the customer service and wait was atrocious. You have to queue in the same line for hotmeals and drinks despite there being staff manning the food bar, drinks station and till. I waited 20mins to pay for cake and coffee. There's an unmanned hot drinks station away from the food that's left empty. The manager says they're short on staff. THERE WAS SOMEONE MAKING HOT DRINKS, MOVE THEM AWAY FROM THE FOOD BAR!!!

The toilets are disgusting hand dryers not working, most toilets sealed off, no soap in dispensers, toilet seat missing. Café great food but dirty and chipped utensils worst off all the toilet cleaning lady then appears with same clothes and gloves to clear and clean tables and replace cutlery...I will be reporting the place to environmental health

Sunday roast is advertised in the Cafe at Dobbies every Sunday served from midday until 3pm, we have arrived at 13:55 on a Sunday, only to be told the hot food stops at 2pm. It was not 2pm just yet, however, all the kitchen has been cleaned prior to 2pm. Why Dobbies advertise Sunday roast served until 3pm then please?

Went in here last month trying to find a large houseplant which would be safe for our cat. Had no idea where to start and asked 2 female members of staff if they had any advice. They were absolutely useless saying they?re ?not allowed to make recommendations?, absolutely no customer service skills.To make matters worse, the older lady said that ?all plants are cat safe as long as they don?t eat them?. This is just incorrect, any animal lover or person with general knowledge will know that even pollen from lilys are extremely toxic to cats. No wonder they?re not allowed to make recommendations if that?s the advice they give. Never felt so frustrated leaving a store and granted won?t ever return here.Also if you?re interested, from the search we did prior to this lovely encounter we couldn?t find any cat safe plants. Take your business elsewhere

Loads of gifts, plants (even Bonsai trees ?), greenhouse gear, gardening tools; everything a gardener needs. Very helpful and polite staff and a lovely place to wander through for ideas.

Have eaten here since they opened, today was the last visit. The service has been going downhill for a while but hit rock bottom today. We both ordered the traditional breakfast. They had not had delivery of sausages or mushrooms so we were already down 2 items. We were first in the queue but other people who obviously knew how bad the service was separated so one ordered and one went to pay, we slipped up we stayed together. We were offered one extra piece of bacon as a substitute for the missing sausage and mushrooms! When we went to order coffee and pay it was the usual 20 minute wait for other coffees to be made then ours. It is pathetic that they use machines which take longer to make a latte than it does to make a toasted panini from scratch. We won't bother going back anymore, it's depressing and a waste of time. There appears to be no management, lack of interest and the slowest drinks section in the history of man. And if you think they will be kind and recognise the fact it's not even a full breakfast forget it, one rasher of bacon is all you might get not even a £1 discount.

They need to be more active with reducing damaged plants as there are too many bad plants out on display for full price. Otherwise, they have a great selection of houseplants you just have to watch what you're buying.They do have a reduced section but it seems staff don't know when to reduce things as for the last two times that I've visited the only things in the reduced section were fully dead beyond the point of saving them and were just crunchy sticks being sold for £££'s.The staff need some training to spot plants earlier and to either take action to save them or to reduce them to get the sale before they are crunchy crispy dead. It's a little embarrassing to see fully dead plants on the shelf!

We use Dobbies regularly for the soft play and a cup of tea. We visited this morning and it was actually vile, the soft play was filthy. Food and wrappers on the floor, tables hadn't been wiped from the previous night and plates and food sat on trays from the previous day too. (I know it was from the previous day, due to the food on the plates not being breakfast) We visited at 9.30am so the days 1st customers. It was very off putting especially where children are crawling and walking about the floor. The staff should be ashamed to open a facility while the place was this dirty.

The food was OK. Nearly £9 for a sandwich seems a lot with just a pinch of salad. The organisation was chaotic. There were huge queues at coffee time and even huger ones at midday partly caused by it being totally unclear where to order hot food from. So the queue for cake and coffee blocked the hot food queue. People were not happy to reach the till then be sent back to order food. Bizarrely one of the two tills was closed at this time. It would be so easy to solve with two queues, some signposts and a manager in evidence. The cafe area is huge and soulless and a bit cold would definitely not choose to eat here again.

Disgusting cold uncooked food. We went for breakfast early Saturday morning. The place was cold to start. The £9.99 breakfast is just awful. The meal was first of all cold. The sausages were not cooked and were raw where they were not ready and much cheap meat. Went away to never return to this place. How we have not been ill from the cold, uncooked food is beyond me. They are making a lot of money out of this breakfast. never ever again. All of it is cheap ingredients and disgusting and cold. Lady serving pleasant but not using gloves to do toast. Honestly, this is the worst overpriced breakfast ever. Avoid
