Interesting experience today! I walked into the library this afternoon to browse for a book. The library was lively and vibrant with life, Mums with pushchairs and sounds of happy people - magic! NOT quiet - just a lovely buzz. I was awaiting some news - someone I love dearly was rushed in for an emergency c section, this was ongoing and unpredictable. Whilst in the library, a video call came in unexpectedly and there was a beautiful baby feeding at her mother's breast. I answered the call and may have sounded rather excited and not especially quiet! I was still in the library, but not for long dear reader as I was asked to leave! My volume was no higher than other lovely people in the library - children and parents were happily communicating and this is fantastic! As a professional working in schools I will continue to support and promote our library service very proactively but from now on, I'll stick with Mile Cross and The Forum (where I have never been made to feel so uncomfortable). How could my experience have been different? I could have been approached in a friendly way and engaged with very easily! I was at the time experiencing huge relief to find that all was well with my family and could see the beautiful baby on my phone. A sympathetic and friendly approach towards me instead of what happened would still have led to me stepping outside for the remainder of the call. Please think twice in future. Just because I'm not a child in a pushchair or a mother calling out her farewells to her friend does not mean I'm not worthy of consideration as to what my needs might be, even though I may not be as quiet as you feel a woman in her sixties should be!

Absolutely fantastic service at the library today, popped into see about the warm packs for my children and my grandparents, me and my mum were greeted by the most loveliest friendliest lady whom with no judgement at all gave us everything we needed and even went through extra items offering them to us if needed! I can not recommend North walsham library enough, made us feel completely comfortable and supported. Thank you so much

I have always found the staff at North Walsham so helpful and pleasant. The book stock is regularly changed and I can mostly find the books I want to read. There is a relaxed atmosphere and you can take a break with a newspaper to read. I enjoy my visits.
