Nice hotel, friendly staff, plenty of parking and rooms are nice if not a little dated. The building itself is amazing to look at and there is a bar, restaurant, gym, spa, golf and driving range on site so plenty to do. If you're looking for an out of the way quiet place this is a good choice, there is also a Tesco/fuel 5 minutes away if you need anything.

Beautiful building and well maintained surroundings. However? Rooms are definitely dated, phones are not manned (tried to call a number of times), reception had 4 staff chatting, yet no one to answer the phone. Restaurant was disappointing: 3 out of 6 of the orders were messed up. I don?t understand how anyone can mess up a burger, but they did and it was disgusting (never ever had that happen before). What is the use of a swimming pool if guests are not offered bathrobe and slippers?

Really enjoyed our stay, would have scored service higher, but service for dinner on Saturday night was extremely slow. Maybe over stretched with a function.Food & drinks: As already explained we waited over an hour for our meal from the order taken.

If you want a good place to stay, I would book Dunston Hall and relax. The car park is spacious, easy to access, and free. Amenities consist of a golf course, swimming pool, steam room, bar, and open grounds allowing guests to stroll.I never usually give any location 5 stars, but after staying in different locations, Dunston Hall deserves each star.

Visited for my mother?s birthday, staff had no idea of booking which was made couple weeks before. Marks on table cloth. Staff said they needed to set up which should have been done ?the night before?.The food was very basic and minimal, one mini egg sandwich each per person for £30!!!!!! So expensive for not even the bare minimum.Cakes were worse than processed store bought!Would avoid at all costs!!

Went for a function, service a little slow - 2 pints & 2 packet of crisps just shy of £20

Great breakfast, fresh, great range and amazing service. Lovely building, character, history and setting. If your looking for a nice evening meal the brasserie is a great place and functions are great too.

This should have been a great hotel. The architecture and spaces have been transformed well into a hotel. The food (breakfast) from the restaurant and evening food from the bar let this place down. Cold or overcooked. Not replenished swiftly enough for the guest numbers. Breakfast service was a shambles. The woman seating people was so process driven, she's forgotten customer service. Shameful and insincere behaviour by her, not only to us but observed with many others right through breakfast time.Rooms are great; clean and comfortable. The spa is very, very tired. Sauna and steam rooms not hot as should be. Jacuzzi and pool opposingly are both very cold. The hotel allows dogs. No issue with this. Kids on the other hand were an issue. It was overrun with families. So if you're after a romantic break avoid this hotel.Golf driving range very good, as is the golf course.

Pros+ Good location, close to Norwich but feels away enough to have beautiful grounds+ lovely building and historical features+ good size room which was clean and had everything we needed+ great buffet breakfast with a good choice+ Amazing food at dinner, we highly recommend the grilled halloumiCons- the rooms and some areas of the hotel would benefit greatly from modernisation. We found the room a mix match with a very modern, clean and sleek bathroom but the room itself very tired and outdated. The bed was absolutely horrible! The poor sleep took away all the relaxation that we got from the massage!- the poolside is much smaller than expected and felt quite oppressive to be there for any length of time with no natural lighting- the biggest downside for us was the way the pool area is utilised. The pool itself is on the small side for a hotel if it's size. Yet when we were there there were children's swimming lessons taking place in the pool and multiple families with children screaming and jumping in the pool (much like you expect when you go to a family friendly holiday camp). This is despite the many signs forbidding jumping and diving in the pool these pool rules are not enforced. This was incredibly disappointing given we booked and were looking forward to a relaxing 2 night spa break.- on the second night at dinner our table was sat very close to the piano. Whilst the piano music was lovely and delightful to hear it was definitely not background music as was too loud we couldnt speak to each other. Fortunately the restaurant had spare tables and we were able to be moved.Would we recommend. Well that would depend. If you don't mind the potential dangers of all the dive bombing at the pool and all the noise that you expect from family holidays then yes we would recommend. However if like us you are seeking a relaxing spa break and time at poolside then we would advise that you avoid and go elsewhere. On a final note to confirm we have children and nothing against them at all in our review. But we as stated we were expecting a relaxing spa break and don't feel that that was delivered
