We were visiting as a special treat for our sons birthday. The service from the waiting staff was very good and the food came out nice and quick. This is an expensive restaurant, expect to pay around £50 a head just for the main meal so I was expecting good quality food. However, I was very disappointed with the quality of my piece of steak. I always order rib eye and I fully understand this is a fattier cut of meat compared to say sirloin or fillet but the majority of the meat was inedible due to sinue and thick, white fat, the type that is never going to melt when cooked resulting in chewy inedible meat. I did bring this to the attention of the waitress who then asked the manager to come over. She did apologise but then went on to say that it was just my ?bad luck? due to the cow! She went on to explain that all cows have different levels of fat and I had just been unlucky! This is no way to talk to a paying customer and more so, insult my intelligence! I am shocked to have experienced such bad customer service from a very respectable restaurant. On their website it says their philosophy is, I quote : ?Prime is built upon our passion for delivering both an excellent service and the highest quality of food.? On this occasion, the service and quality of food did not meet their so called standards and I have been left feeling very let down and angry. When I received the bill, I had still been charged full price for my steak which I was surprised to see as I hadn?t been able to eat it. I paid the bill including the steak because it was a family meal which didn?t want to spoil it and thought I would express my disappointment formerly. I did email them but they never even had the decency to acknowledge my email hence why I am writing this review.

We popped in after visiting the cathedral. The wine and food were superb and the gentleman behind the bar was really helpful and friendly. I would definitely return.

Prime by name and prime by nature! We had been to the original Prime and it was good but this is another level.\\nSophisticated dining in a sophisticated atmosphere. Stephan was superb, his knowledge was exemplary, willing to offer suggestions if asked. He was attentive without intruding.\\nI mentioned in passing my partners birthday and they took notice, very good.\\nMy only complaint, and it is silly, was that they took time to make the cutlery line up and the tables look great but didnt line up the tables.\\nAll in all a fantastic evening.

Popped in on a whim late Sunday afternoon. Really glad we did and we'll definitely be returning next time we're in Norwich. Service was excellent and very friendly.\\nThe ribeye was one of the best I've ever had, apparently it's locally sourced too.\\nTo start I had the lobster roll which was really filling.\\nOne of our party is gluten intolerant but despite the menu not having dishes explicitly gluten free they did accommodate her well.

Yes! Pukka loved it! Pricing was average for the kinda thing your having. I loved the hole finish the steak off yourself adds abit of satisfaction to your meal the starters or 'one of' were abit ropey but that was purely because we didn't no what we were ordering! Service was a little slow to start drinks could have come quicker but in all we were in and and within about an hour and a half they even remembered it was my birthday and gave me a complimentary chocolate cake and ice cream. A solid thumbs up from me guys ill be back that steak was the tities ?

Wow! Just home from a wonderful night at Prime.\\nThis has to be the best restaurant in Norwich, especially if you like Steak obviously.\\nPrime have done a fabulous job of creating a beautiful, elegant restaurant.\\nNot really sure it?s worth writing too much. Just go if you get the chance. We didn?t want any of the courses to end. What was really obvious is that they are not letting the steak dishes do all the heavy lifting. Each side was perfect. Pudding was excellent, cocktails incredible, and staff were just the cherry on the cake!\\nThank you!

My son took me there for a piece of stake. The stake was good, the price was high, but the atmosphere really worth going for.Book online in advance and fry your own stake.

Chateaubriand on the hot Volcanic stones, amazing once again. Thoroughly recommend. Cannot fault and staff great too.

I visited Prime on 14th November 2021. It was amazing especially their service. The restaurant was relatively busy, but it was well managed by one waiter professionally. 9 tables with 1 waiter, well done! For the quality of the food, it was good especially their Chateaubriand. I'm really happy for the price I'm paying. We had Steak Tartare and Seared Scallops. The scallops were fresh, and it goes really well with their signature sauce and other dressing. For the Steak Tartare, good portion was served with well blend of the herb and spice. For the starter, I will give a 9/10 rating.For our main, we had Chateaubriand, Tomahawk and Ribeye.- Chateaubriand 10/10, it was tender, perfectly aged beef. Definitely worth trying!- Tomahawk 8/10, sadly it wasn't the real tomahawk as the bone served alongside of the steak is just for decoration. However, the meat was juicy and good amount of fat.- Ribeye 4/10, you can clearly tell the meat wasn't the freshest and it was a really lean ribeye.For dessert, everything was up to standard.Overall dining experience was great. We enjoy our food and the whole aura of the restaurant was lovely.After 2 months, we decided to revisit Prime. First thing I realised the changes of the menu are the ingredients! The ingredient of the food was substituted with a cheaper ingredient, but the price didn't change! For example, the previous scallop comes with green sea lettuce. But this time, it was replaced with Chorizo. The taste of the food was really blend because in my humble opinion, the Chorizo doesn't go well with it!Today was a busy day as well, 7 table was filled. However, the waiter seems having a hard time to keep up with the 7 table. She wasn't patient, just kept on rushing us. When we told her that the Scallop was served differently compare to last time, she replied rudely :"Everything was served according to the menu" and then she turns around and left. For the Steak Tartare, their signature green sauce was missing. The Steak Tarture was really bland, therefore we ask for tabasco. The waiter replied they don't have. But after asking her again, she finally bring us a bottle of nearly emptied tabasco......I'm not sure whether the restaurant is trying to cut the cost of the food or the chef forget it. Very disappointed.For the main, the quality of the Chateaubriand was really bad. It wasn't as tender as the previous Chateaubriand we have, and I didn't taste good.Prime definitely need to standardise their customer service and the quality of the food. I really don't mind if the price increase but I'm looking for at least the same quality we have been served last time. Overall dining experience today was upset and disappointing. I don't think I will return anytime soon.

Absolutely wonderful, food is great, service is great, atmosphere is great. Looking for steak in Norwich? This is your place! Steak is served on a hot rock, seared but blue. You then leave on the rock slicing the steak until its cooked to your liking. Sides all cooked perfectly and nothing too much trouble. Desserts have been well matched to a steak dinner with delicate fruity and refreshing tones (although sticky toffee pudding is still there for those not faint of heart!).Loved it, will definitely go again:)

Just a great place with perfect steaks.Service (in my case 2 ladies) 6 stars ?Prices, ok it is not the place for every day dinner, but the food in my humble opinion worth every penny spend.Being in Norwich, you need to be there!

Excellent food and service. Not cheap, but worth the money if you want to treat yourself occasionally. I like how you finish cooking the steak yourself at the table. So you can get it exactly how you like it.

Our food was divine and our server explained how to best use the hot stone to cook our steaks. Desserts were delicious and lovely personalised message for our anniversary. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable and just really lovely! Can?t wait to go back.
