The Appartments are very fine and the house holders are so lovely, when I ever come back to North Yorkshire. I will go to Sue and Bill, thank you so much for the stay at your Side ;)

I booked a outing with Thornton lodge for the 27th October 2019 which was cancelled and postponed I have requested a refund before the event happened which has been refused as I couldn't make the rescheduled date and I have had advice from trading standards that have said they are in breach contract by cancelling that date I booked. I will be taking this further my advice would be don't let them bully you with there terms and conditions they are not worth the paper they are wrote on due to distance selling regulations.

Attended the POSTPONED hunter trial on Sunday 3rd November with forty fellow competitors and had a thoroughly enjoyable day. Thanks to all who took part in raising funds for Yorkshire Air Ambulance - a very worthy cause..

booked to go on a cross country event which they cancelled on the 27th Oct and postponed to the weekend after I could not attend and let them know the day they cancelled the event and requested a refund to be told I was not going to get one. I am now going through PayPal dispute to get my money back. not very good customer service if you ask me. trading standards says if the event is cancelled moved or postponed you are entitled to a face value refund ??

Arriving at a B&B described on its website as "four star", and at a price of nearly £100 per night, we were expecting a bit of luxury. We were quite shocked on arrival to find a shabby-looking farmhouse covered in bird excrement. When shown to our room in a granny annexe at the back, we were once again taken aback to find an unpleasant-smelling, tastelessly decorated room with a very unwelcoming bathroom that was clearly designed for an elderly person. The free wifi that was promised did not work and the hosts were quite unapologetic about the fact this had been the case for a while. The only saving grace was that it was clean, but the standard of the accommodation was so far removed from what we'd been expecting that we couldn't stand the thought of staying there for the weekend, and we checked out immediately and opted for a proper hotel a few miles down the road which, despite being part of a reputable chain, was cheaper than Thornton Lodge. At close to £100 per night, this B&B is extortionately priced and the information given on their website is misleading at best. The use of clever photography (and the strategic omission of any photos of the bathrooms) leads you to believe it's a nice place to stay. Do not be fooled.

Sue, the host couldn?t do enough for us. The room was very comfortable and the breakfasts were unbelievable. It was so tranquil we didn?t want to leave. We are trying to work out when we can go again.

A tranquil place with wonderful hosts who made us feel really welcome. The peace of the countryside was magical and being introduced to a new foal made my day. Very generous breakfast to which we couldn?t do justice.

After eventually finding our way to Thornton Lodge ... believe your satnav, it?s a little way out, but not as far as it seemed ... we were greeted by Sue, who showed us to our en suite room, which was warm and clean. The bedding was white and spotless ... lovely! We were immediately offered drinks which were served in the outer sun room, where a delicious breakfast, made to order, was also served in the morning, when we wanted it. It included fruit salad, yogurts, cereals, full English cooked to order, tea or coffee and toast. The en suite is adapted as a wet room area/shower room; towels were clean and soft. Thornton Lodge is a specialist equine farm, run by Sue and her husband; from race horses on R&R to a lovely mare and 3-week old foal at the time of our visit in mid-April ?- and what superb conditions they were kept in. So, if you like horses ..... Thoroughly recommended as a really nice place to stay with friendly hosts.
