CUSTOMER SERVICE DOES NOT EXISTOn the 7 February 2024 I went into North Moor Post Office to post a small letter and needed to send it 2nd class signed for. I informed the young male, member of Post Office staff that I had already got £2.55 postage stamps on the item.He chucked it in the mail bag behind him saying "you might as well not have bothered putting on any postage you have just wasted £2.55" He then proceeded to charge me the full amount without taking into account the postage that I had already put on the letter.I informed him that they were perfectly valid stamps & that I had made him aware of the fact that I had already put stamps on the letter as soon as I went in the Post Office. He stated he was new and didn't know how to do the transaction saying he had only been at the Post Office 2 weeks.Not happy with the situation I asked to speak to the manager to which he replied "I am the manager" I informed him that I was NOT going to pay twice for an item.He then made a telephone call to the manager as he didn't know how to void the transaction. I said to him I thought you were the manager to which he then said I am the assistant manager. (Bearing in mind he had only worked there for 2 weeks)!!! Rapid promotion or what.He then said "We don't make any money when you put stamps on"I said that I would be reporting him to the Post Office as I wasn't at all happy with the situation. On asking his name he refused to give it to me. He then said I was rude & aggressive and that I needed to leave the store. His request I adhered to. However on my leaving he told me I was banned from the store. I am 57 years of age & have never been banned from anywhere before in my life.I hasten to add that I shall not been frequenting this premises again. I hasten to add I had 3 other items to post that day of which £18.00 to this young gentleman would have undoubtedly been wasted postage?

I took two parcels here to return to a UK company. I had printed off the labels and carried them across the road so they weren't big. Postmistress was on her lunchbreak. Duly arrived behind the counter with a sour look on her face (as usual). She said she wouldn't take them because they were a trip hazard. Apparently she had tripped over a parcel earlier in the year. Why this became my problem is anyone's guess. Eventually she agreed to take the slightly smaller one but told me to go elsewhere with the other one but couldn't advise where. Is this a Post Office or what? I was extremely flummoxed by this. I eventually made a complaint which was upheld. This woman never cracks a smile. For someone who works in customer service she needs some education and understanding that she runs a post office and customers are what keeps her in a job.

I Visited the post office on Monday 20th November 2023 after checking the opening times online. I was in the queue at 12.55 and two people in front of me. When it was my turn I said to the lady sorry I?ve got a few parcels ( I had 2 large parcels and I small ) she replied I?m shut now for lunch! My reply was ?you?re joking? as I presumed she was as joking with me apologising for having 3 parcels to keep her busy. No JOKE obviously and asked if the parcels were international and I replied just Uk. My reply I?m shut. Absolutely terrible customer service!! I went to the Spar on Huntington road and they were different again, helpful, friendly and presumably have more people trained on the post office so no need to shut for lunch. 1) if you?re going to shut for lunch - say on the website. 2) don?t let someone stand in the queue to then turn Round and say ?I?m shut for lunch!?

Man who works behind this post office counter is useless, clueless and rude. The ladies are great btw.Took a USA bound parcel in today and asked what information I may or may not need. Scanned the item, said don?t worry to be followed by ?don?t blame me if it don?t get there??. Too late by that point. Scanned in and going.Had a google and I was missing crucial information, went back to collect it. No apology ?I?m just the bloke who scans stuff and chucks it in a bag?. Now need to get a refund and start all again - which I can?t get from the post office.If you don?t know the answer - say so.Time for a career change I think.

Julie is amazing. Knows her customers and makes them feel really comfortable. Has an excellent working knowledge of all post office business which is more than can be said for many other so called post office staff.

9-5:30 is a lie for a start! Went in on my lunch break and got there at 12:50. Realised that I needed a pin to put money in. Said I need to ask my daughter for the pin and I'll be back in a min. Came back at 12:57 and she'd buggered off for lunch! Didn't mention she'd be going on lunch soon! The girl left in charge wouldn't ask her to come back out and just said "she's on lunch"! So now my rent will bounce! Thanks! ? So helpful!

Postmistress is the most rude horrible postoffice worker I have had to deal with. Went in with a few parcels and asked them all to be sent via first class. Initially she moaned about the quantity (there were 4 in total), she started processing them and completed the transaction. Was only when I left that I realised two of the parcels had been sent via second class, not first. All in all a rubbish experience and won?t be returning. Hope Royal Mail read this and get rid of her!!!

The post women is probably the worst I?ve ever dealt with.I don?t understand how she is still working there.Totally unprofessional, left the whole shop waiting for 10 minutes.And also ended up charging me more money because she didn?t check where my parcel was going before hand.When I asked her to change it, she said it was too late as she had already put the postage label on.I wish I could give 0 stars!

The postmistress has to win grump of the year! If she hates her job that much then leave! I only went to post a few things and felt like a naughty child the way she spoke to me! Zero sense of humour, zero interaction and zero friendliness!

Huntington post office, north lane, York is closed for lunch from 1300 to 1330 PM, despite what the website says, so don't waste your lunchtime expecting service, however surly.

Never had any problems here with any of the staff. I go here to post a letter or a parcel and they do exactly that!
