“Had the pleasure of staying here with my husband for our birthday treat. The room was comfortable, quite and dressed for our birthdays. From the moment we arrived the staff were friendly and attentive. They seemed to enjoy working there, felt like a happy family environment. The food and drinks were of the highest quality. We will be returning.Rooms: The bond room is very quirky and chic; the only downside is there isn't a soft close loo lid.Food & drinks: The evening meal and breakfast was delicious. I can honestly say it's the best steak I've ever had.”

“We attended a family wedding and booked our accommodation for the night of the wedding. The bed and pillows were so comfortable, we didn't want to get up in the morning, however an amazing breakfast was waiting. There was a good selection of cereals, fresh fruit and yogurts, plus fruit juices. Then came a full English breakfast. Wow, it was so tasty, the sausages were local butcher sausages. The portions were very generous only our son in law managed to eat everything on this plate. Alison and Rachel had only gotten the keys a few days before our stay. They were so friendly and helpful. We would recommend this pub if you are looking for a village location in a beautiful village.”

“Great service! The lovely lady was working on her own (may have been somebody in the kitchen) but she was definitely understaffed, and did a wonderful job. Very caring and prompt and looked after us and our dog. Lovely, clean, dog friendly pub with nice food and good relaxing music and a pleasant atmosphere.”

“I had to laugh reading the last negative review. I was having drinks with my nieces when the hen party arrived, who were in fact in my opinion very drunk and abusive. I do not post often on TA but having spent my time working in hospitality for many years I don’t blame the owners for turning them away. I had a feeling they might post a bad review hence me posting my own experience. I had a great meet and greet on arrival by the two ladies behind the bar and we were made to feel most welcome. The food was excellent. It takes a while for the food to come and the waitress did say explain that but everything is homemade and cooked fresh, no frozen veg here! The veggie lasagne was a hit with my nieces and I had their fish lemon sole and caper special. You do have to book to reserve a table as they don’t have many tables and it gets busy with diners.”

“Had been for a walk in Valley gardens so called in to the Crown Hotel for an afternoon tea. Very convenient as they serve it at lunchtime so don't have to wait til 2 or 3 o' clock. The lady serving us was very pleasant and quickly brought our drinks, followed soon after by a lovely selection of sandwiches and cakes. Great value for money. Would highly recommend”
