Costs have gone up (haven't they all?)3 big problems1. You're always blocked by massive cages and piles of stock. It's never not busy and staff don't really care if its hindering customers and creating bottlenecks, they just want the produce out on the shelf. Get that but it's a bloody nuisance when this is happening in every aisle.2. They regularly have items missing for weeks at a time. Stuff you've bought for the past 12 months, you'll then go a month without seeing them.3. Fruit and veg goes off very quickly compared to their competitors.

Hark, fair citizens of the realm! 'Twas a day of humble intentions, when I, Sir Reginald the Pretzel Paladin, embarked upon a daring quest to the local Aldi emporium. Clad in my finest suit of armor, which, I confess, consists of repurposed tin cans, I ventured forth to experience the working-class wonders of this fabled establishment. Alas, my chivalrous heart finds itself granting a mere two stars to this peculiar venture.Upon entering, I was immediately struck by the absence of heraldic banners and fanfare. Instead, I was greeted by stacks of cardboard boxes, as if the village peasants had all conspired to create a makeshift labyrinth just for my entertainment. My valiant steed, a rusty shopping cart, rumbled and groaned as it navigated the treacherous terrain, threatening to spill my rations at every turn.As I strode through the hallowed aisles, I was confronted with a most perplexing conundrum: the knights of Aldi wielded no swords, but rather metal sticks they called "trolley bays." These bays were as unpredictable as a dragon's temperament, careening and colliding with abandon, leaving me to dodge and weave as though engaged in a jousting match with invisible foes.A mishap soon occurred that befuddled even the most astute of troubadours. In the produce section, I encountered a mystical contraption labeled "self-checkout." Gazing upon it, I was struck with a sense of dread akin to facing a fearsome wyrm. Attempting to operate this arcane device proved to be a most taxing endeavor. Each time I placed my meager treasures upon its altar, it beseeched me for a monetary offering, demanding a tribute that seemed to change at whim. After several failed attempts and awkward interactions with neighboring peasants, I abandoned my quest and sought out a cashier, a humble servant who proved more skilled in deciphering this modern sorcery. The culminating disappointment awaited me at the checkout lane, where I was informed that the only payment accepted was a piece of plastic with invisible gold, which I possessed not. Bereft of this enchanted artifact, I was forced to part with my precious wares, leaving them in the hands of the Aldi keepers until I could return with the appropriate currency. In conclusion, dear readers, my grand expedition to Aldi proved a comedy of errors, a tale of humble travail and bemusement. While I cannot deny the working-class charm of this establishment, it sorely lacked the pomp and circumstance befitting a noble knight such as myself. Thus, I bestow upon this experience a modest two stars, with a nod to the common folk who navigate its aisles with a grace I have yet to master. Onward, to new quests and less perplexing markets!
