I went to the pharmacy while shopping today. I usually there was no queue. Despite this the two women on the counter continued to gossip behind the till glancing and making eye contact with me occasionally. It made me feel as though I was invisible. I left without getting what I went in for. It's such a let down as the staff I usually encounter in Tesco northallerton are polite and helpful as a rule

Saturday 21/10 Tesco Northallerton pharmacy. I waited in a sizeable queue as only one assistant was serving. I asked for a small tube of cream that contains 1% hydracortisone a product that is sold over the counter without prescription. The assistant questioned me in a loud voice as to why I needed it. As the pharmacy is in a very public area I tried to be discreet in my answers and show that I knew how to use the cream sensibly. Despite this she repeatedly went to speak to the pharmacist at the back of the shop. He made no attempt to come and seeme. Eventually I was refused the cream. The reason stated was that I needed a full assessment ( not sure what that would consist of !!! ) and that they were not licensed to sell it to me.By this time EVERYONE in the queue knew why I was there it was so embarrassing. We are told to use our friendly pharmacies moreNOT THIS ONE ! Their response was so over the top and unprofessional.Customer service training required !I was able to purchase this item at another pharmacy without fuss.

Extremely poor service. The pharmacist refused to sell me a product due to contraindications. However when I asked him to explain in detail his concerns regarding this issue, he refused. Suggested that I speak to my GP. It being a Saturday afternoon I was unable to do so therefore again asked him to explain, again he did not. He was very pointed and rude to me in front of other customers, I felt very embarrassed and insulted. I noted that he was also checking a child's rash on his face and neck again without any consideration for privacy or dignity for the child or parent. If Tesco are going to employ Pharmacists who think they are GPs for goodness sake give them some basic social skills training. His level of personal hygiene might also be addressed. If products are not going to be sold take them off the shelves. Do not embarrass and insult customers.

Shockingly bad.Has to be the worst pharmacy in the entire branch of Tesco!! Very unhelpful staff, refuse to sell a product and tell me that it?s not what it?s ment to be used for. Even thought the products says what it?s for. Utterly useless people!

Poor customer service- little time & thought given to whether their advice was correct. I was advised that my usual medication isn?t available over the counter, it is and was as usual at a different pharmacy
