Relatively clean but furniture looking very dated and tired. The bedding smelt very musty even though you could tell it had not been used. Kitchen was very poor and we only used the sink. On the plus side the carpet looked new, the bathroom was clean and modern(except for the shower) and a great location. The keypad access worked well and the scratch card for parking was waiting for us, all very simple and we could take our dogs at an extra cost. I would def not book again with Discovery Accommodation as it looks like most of their accommodation is in need of tlc.

This place is perfect for being in the middle of the busy city precinct without all the noise. Pub Street is literally a 3 minute walk away. Staff were amazing and rooms impressive. Cant wait to get back. Glen from Adelaide

Absolutely disgusted with the room . Mould on the ceiling. Black mould on the grout in the shower. Muck on the window I'm sure it's never been cleaned. Paid £30 for parking to find out we had to leave our car at one hotel and we was actually staying at another . The smell when you walked in the front door was vile. It was not worth half the money we paid. How do they get away with it.

Very misleading and shocking! After spending a lovely day in Whitby we went to go to check in. The house they had put us in was difficult to find in a car and the building itself was very dated. After climbing 3 flights of claustrophobic stairs we arrived to practically a bed sit. First thing we saw was a fist mark in the drywall. The whole building stank of urine. We called the ?reception? to speak to someone not even in Whitby who said all they could do was see if they could swap rooms. We definitely weren?t waking up on my partners birthday in this accommodation! I dread to think what the ?swimming pool? looks like. Unless you want to get some kind of infection I wouldn?t bother spending your money here. We ended up going elsewhere, it definitely put a damper on our holiday.

I stayed here a few years ago in which it was a lovely place so booked again but the 2 nd time it was awful the room Rockpool was cladded out with wood and was very small and smelt of urine just like being in a coffin. The good thing about this place was the toilet brush! After trying to get help and sense out of a non English speaking receptionist that too was a failure. Poor customer service and a terrible place to stay. I have emailed twice and just get ignored. This place is not worth a £1 to stay let alone what we paid! I would never book again with them. They need a good manager to sort this out or the bad reviews will just start flooding in.

Booked the silver Street accommodation, at first a little confusing with door codes, but managed it OK, nice open hallway, stopped in suite 9, big open space room and en suite just right for a couple, lovely comfy bed had good sleep but a little warm at night as could open windows due to sea gulls ( not proprietors fault ) but a nice 5min walk to harbour ans overall would stay again. Never stayed at a place with remote owners but prefer it now.

Decided to go to Whitby last minute for 2 night stay. Booked Discovery Accommodation via Booking.com. Unsure what to expect as don?t see the actual accommodation you book. We were pleasantly surprised. The accommodation off Silver Street - Shore was spacious and clean and had everything we needed. It was classed as a suite but more like an apartment. I bedroom, bathroom, longe, kitchen and hallway. It was up 2 flights of stairs. In a block with other similar accommodation. One set external. You get 2 codes ( sent via email) to enter the property for your stay. It felt safe. Bed was a double. Would of preferred bigger as room was big enough. Sofa and chair in lounge not comfortable. Towels, tea, coffee and washing up liquid and cloth all provided. There was a kettle, cooker and microwave plus fridge in the kitchen. Crockery was enough for 2 people. All very clean.

Got there excited. Myself and daughter. We ended up in a different room than we booked. The rooms were dirty . Especially the bathroom. Covered in mould and bits of muck all over the floor.. a dead spider . Look at the pics .the pots were dirty . The towels smelt fusty. It was really uncomfortable sleeping because of the dirt . Ruined our weekend.

Found it eventually after ringing. You are sent door codes to get into the accommodation and pool. Fortunately, iv used them beforehand but if you haven't a clue how to use them, you would be stuck. Putting your hand over the whole pad for the numbers to light up to use. My opinion. Lovely clean and comfortable room. We did use the pool and had it all to ourselves. Did think £10 was a bit steep to pay to use it though. Short steep walk to the port, shops, and bars. Would stay again. Would recommend it x

Booked to stay for the weekend and asked for an apartment with not to many stairs. First thing I saw was the metal stairs ( we booked to stay with our dog) so immediately I was upset because of the danger to our dog. After not being able to get into the apartment because the key pad wasn?t working, we then saw another staircase leading to our apartment. Got into the apartment to be faced with two more staircases one leading to the bedroom and the other down to the lounge and bathroom. I immediately rang Discovery to say it wasn?t suitable to be informed there was nothing they could do as all other apartments were full. I asked for a refund so we could book somewhere else. I was informed they don?t refund, and the managers don?t talk to customers! By this time it was now 5.30 in a Friday afternoon and we were travelling with a dog! To say I was stressed was an understatement. I went out to the car to inform my husband what was happening and when I tried to go back to get my bag the keypad was again not working. I tried for over twenty minutes to get in and eventually rang Discovery again who confirmed I was using the right code. When the maintenance person arrived he also struggled to get in. Eventually when we were leaving he muttered that if I had read the email properly I would have been able to get in! I informed him that the code was correct and the keypad was broken. I appreciate all other accommodations were full but as the apartment was unsuitable I thought a refund was a fair request. We have stayed with Discovery many times over the years but never again. The appalling way we have been treated and the frankly disgraceful lack of customer service will not be forgotten. My advice would be be extremely specific of your needs when booking, or if you want a stress free trip away don?t book Discovery Apartments use a nice company who pride themselves on good customer care.

Rooms: Amazing rooms, comfortable beds, living room was kid friendly, with shows available for kidsNearby activities: Not much.Safety: Keylocks, requires a computer generated code so not everyone can get in.Food & drinks: A lot of the places close early, best to get there around 5-6 before they are packed.

If you can afford to eat every meal out (not enough dinner plates for number of guests, no chopping board, no colander, no peeler, no corkscrew, no sponge or tea towel) , don't intend to sleep (malfunctioning alarm making random intermittent noises every hour of night and day , and also enjoy shocking service from the "virtual" reception then definitely book here .
