I don't normally get involved in leaving reviews but my experience at the Crathorne arms made me compelled to do so, I cannot recommend this place enough, I can honestly say this was the best meal I have ever had, it was divine, they produce Michelin star food at normal prices, the setting is fantastic and the staff are so professional and attentive, a massive thank you to Aaron the manager, Ashley the supervisor and Dave the chef, keep up the fantastic work and we will be revising very soon?

Another good evening at the crathorne arms. Fillet stake served with delicious chips, creamed spinach, onion rings, grilled tomato and flat mushroom. Excellent service as always. No wonder this place is buzzing 7pm on a cold Tuesday night.

Lovely lunch. Great service and very tasty food. Feather blade of beef, chicken wellington, sweet potato curry were our main choices. Sticky toffee pudding all round for sweet. Absolutely delicious.

I booked here for a family Sunday lunch before reading some of the reviews from the last few months. After reading them I must admit I was a little nervous. A business that does not respond to reviews good or bad is not good, its just idle. So we went along, with 2 of our party being gluten free its always a challenge. Well to be fair it was well above average and all our party was happy with what they had. However they did not produce a Yorkshire pudding that was gluten free but still wanted full payment, even an Aunt Bessies would be better then nothing, it appears the chef is either lazy or incapable. When challenged it was explained that they made everything from fresh and gluten free Yorkies was a non starter. However they did have gluten free bread, this was not home made so the excuse did not make sense to me. The service was slow and when we wanted more drinks I had to leave the table and go to the bar. Overall not a bad experience but with a little more attention to detail could be very good.

Great Sunday lunch in a buzzing atmospheric old pub. Lovely staff and excellent real ale selection. Spot on!

Don?t bother with Sunday dinner, can?t cater for dietary requirements or children. Was hugely disappointed considering this should be a family pub. There is not even a full Sunday dinner offering, just chicken or beef and what we received wasn?t well presented, mainly just fat and cold vegetables. Think they need to get into 2023 and offer better options for vegetarians, vegans and children or continue to alienate everyone under the age or 50.

It looked fantastic, but the meat was mainly fat, the Yorkshire was okay, then the rest of the plate was all jus/carrot purée/ two tiny potatoes and a tiny pot of brocolli and cauliflower cheese was shared (which was bland). Where are all the proper veggies? The purées mushed tiny portion of red cabbage on the plate just mixed in with the gravy and couldn?t be tasted. One of us had the veggie ?cauliflour steak? and it was just a plate of cauliflour with some cut up grapes on top?! Also the children?s Sunday dinner was £10.95. So disappointing. Have 2 stars as the atmosphere is lovely, staff are lovely and place is cosy and inviting but the food is all fur coat and no knickers.

Family of 6 Starters were a mixed bag. Scallops where tiny I mean thumb nail size and for the price was ridiculous a whole three of them. The prawn cocktail was serve red in a scallop shell, and was minute ! Just like the scallops. The terrine was average but was vey course and difficult to palette. Mains. The lamb was under cooked and needed a lot more rendering down. It was also stone cold !! The burger was horrendous, very dry. Fishcakes could have been Great if they weren't over salted!!! Overall very very disappointed for the cost.

Went to have lunch here on the recommendation of a friend Had also seen the venue on Gone Fishing with Mortimer and Whitehouse and so had high expectations Both my wife and I went for the haddock and chips with mushy peas. Cost at time of meal was £20 each It was the friend who recommended the venue that we went with and did not want to upset him by complaining at the time But Wife and I both agreed afterwards that: The fish was dry and bland The chips were overcooked and greasy The peas were tasteless Upon returning home we recounted the day to our grown son who works in hospitality. He suggested that if the chef did not get our feedback how could he know anything was wrong and therefore improve what is served So I am leaving this feedback hoping it will be used in a constructive way To justify the title of the feedback, the last time we had fish and chips was from a takeaway in Saltburn. They were about half the price and significantly more palatable A three star rating was still given though because the venue was really good as were the serving staff A different meal choice might have given a different experience

Atmosphere and deco very nice but the food was expensive for it's quality and the wine options are poor. Would absolutely go for a beer but probably not return for dinner

My favourite restaurant in teeside by miles. Simple food, cooked brilliantly with a decent wine list to boot. Top marks every time

Food was excellent but had to wait a long time for it to arrive Sat down just before 1730 and starters arrived just after 1800 hours - nothing special for chefs to prepare - prawn cocktail and seafood pancake. Second course arrived in an acceptable timeframe
