I strive to support local industry so you can imagine my excitement at learning York had it's very own card factory right in the city centre. This wealth of excitement quickly turned to disgust as I realised the wool had been pulled over my eyes. Cardfactory is in fact not a local production facility at all as the name clearly suggests but is merely a distributor of mass produced tat. Stay alert, don't let them trick you like they tricked me.

Lots of cards which are label in sections of recipient (though finding non relatives was harder but thanks to staff found what I was looking for). Great prices, designs and plenty boxes and gift bags. Staff were lovely and efficient.

This card shop is always good value for money with a wide range of cards and wrapping paper. There's a card for every occasion, but you might have to wander around a few times to decide on everything!I especially like their card deals which are something like 5 for £1 or similar. This is a great way of getting a stock of cards for forgotten birthdays or events.This is my preferred card shop in York, and the one I always visit.
