Absolutely outstanding customer service, ownership, and product knowledge from Finn at Halfords, Foss Islands Road, York.He rang me after I had dropped my car off at the site and asked all the relevant questions so he could resolve my issue. I was only around the corner, so I popped back to see him. He then went to work on sorting out the issue with my car. He took ownership of the problem and resolved it to my utmost satisfaction.He is a credit to both himself and the company.I highly recommend Halfords on Foss Islands Road in York. And if you speak with Finn, I am sure he will do all in his power to help you with your motoring issue. I will, of course, use Halfords again.An extremely satisfied customer.Jason Chinnian

It been more than 15days i leave my new ebike here but no response and i don't know how they assemble bike it shows problem in motor and in display after bought a week and i leaves here for repair and i got collection time on 2nd jan but till now no response when i go there they say " we can't guarantee when we can fix your bike". Very poor costumer services. At least fix within a week please dont make us wait for 15 20 days.

Bought a bike from here recently and it couldn't have gone better! All the staff were really friendly and helpful, and they even helped me get some free stuff with the cycle care plan! Can very much recommend :)

I couldn't recommend Halford more highly. I had an excellent experience. I took my bike in for a free 'health check' and David, who works there, talked me through what was fine with my bike, what parts needed replacing and what the most urgent things were. He was really friendly, honest and competent. I decided to get a few things replaced and got an excellent price for it all. All round a great experience, highly competent staff who were friendly and helpful. Now my bike works a dream.

I?ve used this Halfords a few times now. I realised very quickly never to take a car there. They?ll try and rip you off. The staff that work downstairs don?t care and they don?t treat customers properly. Upstairs in the bike section is a different story, they?re generally pretty good. But the staff that work downstairs, very poor people skills and don?t expect them to be friendly towards you.

Took my bike in for a service that had been booked weeks in advance. Went to pick it up th day after or a least to find out what was going on because I hadn't had a call like I'd been promised only to be told it hadn't been looked at. They said it would be done next. Gets a call eventually to say it needs new parts and won't be ready until the end of the week. Got a text to say new collection date Monday. Goes to collect it and it still hasn't been done. Promised that my bike will be next. 3 and a half hours later I go back in and they still haven't done it had my bike a week now and still not ready. Can't call the store as it goes to call center. Communication is rubbish. If its not going to be done then say so. ?

In Oct 2023 bought a new bike at Halfords Foss Islands, York; then a new lock in Nov 2023. David and colleagues went the extra mile in customer service to complete bike order and fit accessories, when online failed and wasted hours. Exemplary service in enabling rapid click and collect, much appreciated.

Halfrauds strikes again.It seems the workers are better versed in denying wrong-doing than they are at fitting headlight bulbs.They?ve got a memorised script ready to absolve themselves of blame.Relatively pleasant chap fits two sidelight bulbs for us, no problem.Only needed one but we do things in pairs of course. Of course the staff take offence to being told it?s dreadful value, but we know they don?t have any power or influence whatsoever in pricing.So yes, horrendous value for money but convenient as I use the gym next door.After the job was carried out we then tested sidelights. However stupid me I never turned the knob all the way onto main beam (didn?t think I had a reason to, was still light outside)Go to the gym for a couple of hours.Jump back in car, dark now, turn headlights on, new warning light pops up; this time main beam NOT side light. And I can visibly see only one side of the wall in front of me lit up.Drive straight back around, park in bay, walk in and explain what?s happened.The most furious bald little man appears, we walk to the car and he says ?are you sure it wasn?t a headlight you needed and you?ve wrongly bought two sidelights?At this point I?m thinking, why didn?t you run a quick diagnostic on the car prior to working on it, Einstein.Now it?s my word against theirs.He looks inside at the headlight and says, ?I doubt it?s us, that?s a complete different cluster?.I knew at that point I was dealing with a bully with no customer care.He gets my main bulb working again (it obviously dislodged with rough handling / removal of the stubborn unit)He then says the headlight is probably on its way out too (oh that?s a coincidence it?s gone from fully working to not working before and after the job was carried out. Think I was born yesterday laddy?) ?they get so much use and they burn so hot? textbook conman dialogue.I swear he was about to sell me a new set of headlight bulbs, but because I got heated with him and upset him, he slammed my bonnet down.Sorry fella but when deflecting blame and being so unhelpful, unfortunately you provoke regular normal working people to say things they wouldn?t normally say.I wouldn?t have got heated if your attitude didn?t stink as bad as my post-gym armpits.I will know it?s you if my car gets damaged while I?m at the gym in future. And I?ll get police down to check alibis.

Had to wait weeks when booking cycle in for replacement brake cables and pads for it to get pushed back to a new date. New date came bike went it for repair at 8am they had it all day and nope brakes still not done. Excuse they are short staffed. Don't take repairs in if you can't do them. Will not be returning.

I just read the comment on accessibility. There are ramps to access the shop. However, the shop uses the disabled spaces to work on customers cars. When I asked about this the assistant looked like he couldn't care less, gave some waffle about the shop doesn't own the car park.If the spaces were full with cars displaying a blue badge, then ok, but when the staff clearly use them for customer cars, and really indicate a thoughless attitude, then I won't be back. Lots of others will as this doesn't affect them, but if you have mobility issues stay well clear, the accessibility statements are for display only.
