I visited this shop this morning .There was no eye contact from staff when I Entered the shop..Now one came up to me to ask me if I needed any help I asked a member of staff to try on some shoes it felt like the member of staff couldn't be bothered to serve me I will not be going back.

The staff are lovely, especially Ann.She went out of her way to look up a shoe and the relevant size for me and explained everything in detail. Nothing was too much trouble for her. Thanks Ann.

Shakira was a very friendly, kind, professional, helpful and attentive assistant. She measured my feet using the computerised system - I can highly recommend this service. It's a nice store with a spacious seating area to it's rear. Shakira's colleague was also friendly. It was a pleasure to visit the store and I hope to return next time I am in York.

I really enjoyed visiting this store as I normally telephone an order. Although I always take a size 6, the assistant advised me to try a size 7 as the boot had a Goretex lining, and it fitted perfectly.

Went to exchange some boots ordered online. Very helpful staff let me try on alternative to check sizing before ordering and sending to hone address. Arrived promptly good fit, very pleased with purchase.

Assistant was very rude to my partner.My partner wanted to look at a pair of shoes but didn't like to ask the assistant about them as she was in conversation with another customer.My partner was trying to socially distance but in doing so the assistant abruptly told her to move somewhere else.My partner explained that she couldn't look.at the shoes she was interested in from where she'd been standing so the assistant rudely told her 'an excuse me would be nice'.How do these people get these jobs?.Anyway,she went to Brown's shoes and the assistant in there was lovely.So there you go.

Usually have an excellent experience here but today we had a grumpy assistant who told us to make our minds up if there was any other shoes we wanted to look at because it's a long way to keep running up and down stairs! We left without buying anything.

Staff very helpful, knowledgeable about the stick. Bought a pair of boots, size four felt too big, three and a half too small. Staff suggested three and a half in a wide fitting. Perfect.
