As clients of HSBC for several years, we are constantly amazed at the sub par service - as existing customers we need to go in branch to open an additional account. Prior to which, we need to call the bank to get pre checked, then wait on advice about the next steps to be taken. Utterly astonishing

Had a really positive experience in HSBC yesterday. As we walked in, we were instantly greeted by a friendly member of staff. My friend wanted to deposit some money but couldn?t remember his pin. She patiently showed him how to retrieve his pin on online banking, talked him through how to deposit the money, and explained to him how to change his pin to a more memorable one. Above and beyond!

Worst bank I?ve been to. Submit a bank letter from my university and all the correct information after being tossed around by them for weeks only for them to tell me that a certified bank letter from my school which they said would work doesn?t work? Huh?

nice staff, but after 16 days waiting for a replacement bank card and over 3 hrs spent on hold or having chat agents ignore me / not talk then send me surveys as well as the LOOOOONG waits to be seen by anyone in branch..... I'll be moving away from HSBC..... the Chinese know how to ruin a business.!!!

Have banked at York branch over thirty years. Was very good customer service until recent times butfrustratingly poor now...very slow front desk reception often understaffed (can't blame Covid forever). Certain staff whilst polite seem to need better training as I have received contradictory advise on multiple occasions. Sad decline.

Staff are efficient & polite. Machines are clearly marked & there's private cubicles if needed to discuss things.

My wife and I are existing customers, we arrived at the bank on a Saturday 40mins before closing, but because what we wanted to do takes 45minutes we were turned away and asked to come back another day. I work 6 days a week at the times the bank is open so I managed to get off early enough to get there on a Saturday and we were turned away. Time to seek out a more competent competitor.
