As with most clothes retailers, H&M in Northampton is mainly focused on women with men having to use just a small area upstairs. To the very best of my knowledge they've no lift so anyone who cannot manage the escalator cannot go upstairs. This is one of those stores though which generally has something worth buying so I tend not to visit if I can't afford it else leave all methods of payment elsewhere!Another issue with the store, as it is with most that end of town, is that they also have no toilets. So, a customer who needs to 'go' literally has to go, out the door to a toilet elsewhere which is a shame as it's a small courtesy.Personally I find the quality of their product is excellent with around average high street pricing. For some reason, the Northampton location generally has a better more varied selection than other H&M stores. I don't know how they do it but for men's clothing it's refreshing to get a choice of styles. Other stores seem to restrict themselves to basic designs so, well done the management for that. Now, there is a large security guard who honestly, I don't see a point in. I am outside the store most afternoons and he spends much of that time outside the store continually vaping. He even adjusts his vape at the door which customers I have seen find off putting as they've had to ask him to move. I am certainly around that area from around 3pm onwards until gone 5 and that seems to be how he 'works'. Most odd.I am not a fan of self service stores and so was disappointed to see that now customers are directed to serve themselves at the tills, scan the items and remove the security devices. Feels somewhat unprofessional to me and I'd prefer them to employ staff for that human touch. If they have changing rooms I couldn't see them, certainly not obvious so, perhaps the idea is, customers get to see things before they buy but effectively have to be prepared to come back and return them if they don't fit properly. Prices have not reduced with the company saving in wages so, clearly customers are now expected to do more for additional corporate profits.

Tiny mens area, often poor stock. Better buying online if looking for mens.
