Absolutely appalled with the workmanship (or lack of it) with the redesigning of two very precious rings. On one ring, the stones which were replaced continue to fall out (twice over the last 2 years). The second ring was redesigned but the stones that were put in by Clarks have no sparkle and the ring looked different from what was agreed. I have since taken the rings to another jeweller who has advised that the claw holding the stones is the wrong size and the setting was very cheaply made and (possibly) soldered on very badly (so the joins are obvious). I have tried to communicate with the proprietor, who is continuously rude and won't accept there is a problem. She is now ignoring my emails. I went in good faith and trusted her suggestions and her promise to create a stunning ring with what I already had. The jeweller who I am having to pay to rectify the mistakes has told me whoever did this work has made "maximum profit" on this job!! I feel ripped off with the massively overpriced and shoddy workmanship. Disgusted!! Avoid!!

I was warned not to use this jewellers but I wanted to support a local business. I should have listened. I needed a ring to be made bigger. I had no idea what size it should be so they used ny existing rings as a guide but said they'd make it a bit looser than that size. It cost £120. I collected the ring and it was clearly loose but the lady in shop said my fingers were cold so would be OK. I tried it for 3 weeks but it is looser than other rings and spins around. I'm also scared it will get snagged. Went to shop today to ask for it to be adjusted a bit smaller but they said I would be charged as I said what size it should be. I didn't. I just took their advice. I will now go to a different jewellers for everything from now on who know about customer service.

I have had a very good experience with Clarks beginning with the lady behind the counter whose name I'm afraid I've forgotten to the excellent work that was done on the 2 rings I took in for repair and I also discussed with them doing another job for me this shows I hope that there work is very good.

Took my watch in for a new battery almost 3 weeks ago, still not available. Have been down 3 times to collect but store is still closed, No information available, wish i had not bothered, So much for using local shops, service is very poor!.

My watch needed a new pin in the bracelet, it was sent away, that took 3 weeks and came back damaged, after I complained, they sent it away again, with no satisfactory conclusion and cost me nearly £40. I would not be going back or recommend them.

I would give zero stars if I could. I sent my watch in for a new battery costing £185 that I bought from John Lewis. When I returned to pick it up, the face was smashed! They said the watch wasn't working and put the old battery back in. I asked them to repair the face that they had smashed and they reluctantly agreed to do it. When I picked the watch up, the watch wasn't working so I took it back to John Lewis where I had purchased it and they sent it off for repair to the makers. It was just out of guarantee and when it came back the repair cost £69. On the repair sheet it said it had been damaged by the person who had tried to replace the battery! That was the repairer at Clark's jewellers! I returned to Clarks's and asked them to pay the repair costs. They flatly refused claiming they had not broken the watch even though I had paperwork saying otherwise and they 'had' smashed the face of my watch when trying to put in a new battery. I sought advice from The Citizens Advice bureau and they said I definitely had a case. I took the case so far and at each stage Clark's denied liability even though CAB said I had a strong case. I didn't pursue it to the last stage in the end because I became very unwell and had to be admitted to hospital and my priorities were elsewhere.I would say avoid this shop at all costs. They were so unhelpful, actually damaged a good watch that I had taken in for a new battery and refused to pay for repairs they had caused. I used them to support local business but would never and have never used this shop again.

DO NOT USE!I bought a new watch online and when it arrived too big I took my watch in to be resized for what I thought would be a quick in-shop adjustment. I left it with them for half a day and when I came back it turned out that they didn't the right tools so they sent it away saying it would take 10 days and cost £17.After 10 days I returned hoping to finally be able to wear my new watch. Upon returning handed me my watch and charged me £18.50 telling me that it was the closest they could size it to my wrist (I also had to ASK for the box back as they were seemingly planning on keeping it). After trying the watch for 5 minutes I realised that the watch was still far too loose. So I returned to the shop complaining and she said that she could send it off for another 10 days to have one more link taken out.10 days passed and I returned to collect my watch and was astonished to find that when they handed it over it looked like it had been sized to fit an infant. I discovered that they actually removed three links (not the agreed single link), incorrectly claiming that it was impossible to remove just one link. The Jewler insisted that she would get the links put back in which would take ANOTHER 10 DAYS! Grudgingly I accepted the offer to put the links back in (knowing that it was better fitting loose than not at all) and left the store extremely dissatisfied.10 DAYS LATER I RETURNED TO THE STORE TO DISCOVER THAT IT WAS SHUT. I RETURNED YET AGAIN THE VERY NEXT DAY TO COLLECT MY PRECIOUS WATCH (AN ENTIRE MONTH LATER AFTER INITIALLY BRINGING IN MY WATCH FOR A QUICK FIX). THEY ALMOST DIDN'T GIVE IT TO ME CLAIMING THAT I NEEDED A PAPER SLIP THAT I WAS NEVER GIVEN TO ME. EVENTUALLY WHEN THEY HANDED ME MY WATCH I WAS LEFT IN DESPAIR TO FIND THAT THEY HADN'T DONE A SINGLE THING TO MY WATCH (STILL IN BABY FORM). AS IF THIS WASN'T ENOUGH OF A JOKE, I WAS CHARGED £3 IN ORDER TO PAY FOR THEIR MISTAKE AND TAKE MY WATCH BACK HOME.I will now have to go to a Milton Keynes to get a professional to resize my watch.I left this terrible experience £21.50 poorer and with a month of my time wasted. Please avoid at all costs!
