I shopped in this store today ( sun 18 ). The young guy who served me was talking to his colleague and didn't speak to me at all during the transaction. Amazing customer service.

Great variety of products. With two children, I buy alot of craft, stationary and art supplies. They love the big selection of books and toys and jigsaws.

A good place for bargains on certain books and stationery, maybe a little short on being 'the works'.

The Works used to be a half decent discount book store. Now they have but back in their book range, and my last three visits I have left the store empty handed. They seem to be concentrating on cheap toys, board games etc. Don't get me wrong, a bargain does pop up now and then, but not often. The store itself is small, and packed to bursting point, with display tables throughout, piled so high that they must fall down regularly. Hard to move around the store due to lack of space, and almost impossible if you have a trolley. The staff are pleasant and helpful enough, and they have a click and collect service available through their online shop. Overall, if you are looking for a cheap child's toy, or a throw away book for summer holidays or whatever, then this place is worth a visit, but very little of quality. I used to visit regularly to buy books from their 3 for £5 range. Sadly, they've cut this way back and in my opinion no longer offers anything I want to read.
