This is another Ladbroke's bookies which is a bit dingy. You might expect that all shops in any chain would be pretty similar, but no. Ladbroke's bought over all the Eastwood's Bookmakers (in a deal reputed to be worth £120m), and seem to be content to just let the shops run as they are. If you're going to spend an hour in a bookies, maybe picking a few football bets and watching a few horse or greyhound races, you want to do it in a bit of comfort. This bookies doesn't provide that. There are a few high stools in this place but they aren't too comfortable. It's a small bookies and doesn't have as many screens as other shops. Ladbroke's have a loyalty card scheme, but you'd have to be a heavy gambler to get any benefit from this. For example, if you accumulate 500 points, you get a £5 free bet. However, you only receive one point for every £2 you bet, so you'd need to bet £1,000 to get a £5 free bet - not really a great incentive to bet here.
