Was refused an emergency supply of my medication unless I PAID for it. I fail to see how a pharmacist can be unaware of the Emergency Supply Scheme. I suggest they educate themselves and when someone like me who was too many miles from home, requires their prescription medication, they follow the Northern Ireland guidelines which can simply be found online ...."This core pharmaceutical service will be provided under Regulation 2252 of Human Medicines Regulations (HMR) 2012: Emergency Supply at the Request of a Patient"

There are 2 chemists in close proximity to each other one the Cavehill Road but I have always opted to support the independent option of McCoubrey's which is a small family run business. Staff are helpful and very knowledgable, always willing to answer queries and if what you require isn't in stock they source it quickly. They have a prescription collection service which means no trip to GP surgery required for repeat prescriptions and also a delivery service for those who struggle to get out of the house. Set up inside is old fashioned and you can often find toiletries that were probably your grandma's favourite on the shelves alongside more modern ones.

When I used to live at home with my Mum and Dad, this was our local chemist, and I swear I actually lost count of the amount of times I was sent around there to get a prescription filled, or to get plasters or a new toothbrush or something similar. The chemist is really helpful, and always gives good advice on things like over the counter remedies and tips and suggestions about taking antibiotics or when you are buying sun-cream or things like that. It's a small premises, but it is well kept and clean, and the products are arranged well and it's easy to see what's on offer. A friendly, local chemist that is full of advice and support for its customers.
