The curry served here is a sweet curry and not to my liking. I did complain and was told that for 40 years the Golden Dragon has served sweet curry to the good people of Downpatrick with no complaints. In fact, its their specialty. I found it bland and without any depth of flavour and would not go back for that reason. If sweet curry is your thing, then this is the place to go!

One of the best if not thee best Chinese in Downpatrick. Fast service and food is always top quality. I recommend their curry and chicken fried rice, very tasty.

I have been going to the Golden Dragon for 35 years and have yet to get a bad meal, now that is a big speak, so delighted to see it open again.

I love this place. It has now turned into just a takeaway service, But i think its one of the nicest Chinese I've had. The pork fillets are amazing along with the slice breast chicken curry if your in Downpatrick and looking a chinese takeaway get it from here one word AMAZING.

We called in here to feed our hungry bellies early one weekday evening when we were up in Downpatrick helping some friends out with a musical they were staging in the local theatre. We were effectively the 'backstage crew', so we decided to treat ourselves to a Chinese for sustenance - the healthy option of course. Hmmm...anyway, Downpatrick is a small town so there aren't a million options for eating out, but this Chinese is a good option. It was quiet when we went because it was early on a weeknight, so there weren't loads of people there, but the place is nicely decorated, with some very large tables for big groups and also catering for smaller groups or pairs too. The menu is very extensive (too big in my opinion) but the food was lovely, with very large portions and complimentary prawn crackers. The food arrived quickly and was satisfying, and they were very obliging about our usual 'awkward vegetarian' (her own words!) and brought her what she asked for - weird though it was. A nice restaurant.
