Quite a negative experience when I went in to purchase paypoint. The machines are down, yet again, and the young lad that served me was quite ignorant - He firstly seemed quite irritated to have to serve a customer, was quite off hand and then snapped something out of my hand to scan it. I'll not be back!

Today I visited Ashvale with some family members. There were 6 of us. We were greeted very promptly at the door by a waitress who made us feel welcome We were seated in the Orangery Our order was taken and the food was delicious when it arrived It was very busy and we observed how efficient and friendly the staff are. So good to hear laughter and staff all getting on together During our visit this morning one of the waitresses stopped to have a chat with us. I believe her name was Dion. I have recommended Ashvale to so many people Delicious breakfasts and welcoming staff.

This morning my friend and I went to Ashvale for breakfast. We had both never been before and it was recommended to us so we decided to go this morning. We were seated in the orangery, I must say it is a lovely location. We enjoyed our breakfast but the best part of the experience was the staff. They were all so polite and very welcoming and great to see happy and smiley faces. We would definitely go back again as it was a very enjoyable place to be. Thank you!

We had the nicest experience, the food was delicious and reasonably priced. The experience was made most enjoyable by the incredible staff! From the minute we walked in the door we were greeted by the friendliest staff, everyone was attentive and kind. Our day was made! Thankyou

Awful experience! My friend and I... both mums on maternity leave .. (one baby 4 months the other 5 months) we arrived for lunch and were the only people queuing (with babies in prams... just to add one of the prams is a doona.. very compact) we were greeted with an unwelcome attitude 'we have no tables right now' our response 'no problem we are happy to wait' another couple arrived behind us who were then seated.. we understood that they were being seated as they would take up less space. Soon after another member of staff greated us again with an unwelcome attitude stating she did not have room for us... but did take another couple behind us to be seated... on the 3rd unwelcome waitress we decided we would leave... I did ask is there a problem with the babies...said member of staff said it was a health and safety concern with hot plates etc! I asked to speak to a manager.. I was approached by a member of staff who quite frankly was rude and dismissive when I asked her to confirm she was the manager.. *she was not; the manager was not available* I explained that this was our second visit with the babies to Ashvale and the second time we felt discriminated against. Said waitress did become appologetic whdn i mentioned i was going to give a bad review on the cafe (Side note a few weeks beforehand we visited... very unwelcomed and were told to move away from the doors when queuing as we were causing a draft to other customers and forced to stand in the cold with the babies... we thought it was a one off and decided to give Ashvale a second chance) all in all I would not recommend Ashvale to anyone with babies / prams/ children ... terrible place for customer service never mind thd food!

Well wee arrived at 11.25 am and I am aware that the breakfast stops at 11.45 but wee had been outside waiting for 20 minutes before wee got in only to be told that they would not get us breakfast wee said that wee we?re outside waiting for 20 minutes the girls attitude was bad she said she would asked and walked off and never came back to us until we asked another girl and pointed out the girl that was to come back to us and didn?t next thing the original girl came over and with a smile on her face as much as to say you can?t have it but when we were put to are table at the start the breakfast menu was put in front of us on the table. That?s that part my wife has a lot off food allergies the girl said for instance my wife asked for sweet potatoes instead of chips can?t do I and wouldn?t do it i don?t know what kind of chef?s you have but the fact that you have set menus and the girls have been told they can?t change anything on the menu tells me that you haven?t got good chef?s or it?s managed all wrong. I don?t know any restaurant that doesn?t bend over backwards to help in this situation don?t get me wrong it?s a lovely place but the price they charge is ridiculous for plain basic food

My friend and I had lunch at this restaurant recently. Firstly the menu is very limited for GF customers. I enjoyed my baked potato. After the meal we asked the waitress to leave it a little while before we ordered tea/coffee and dessert. Imagine our surprise when no less than the owner arrived at our table with the bill after about half an hour. My friend explained that the waitress had not returned and we were planning to order something else. We found this to be very rude especially as the table behind and the table to the side of us had both been there before us and they were not approached. We ordered drinks, dessert and a traybake before paying and leaving. The owner told us that there was a queue but when we looked there were only about six people who quickly got seats. The experience made us feel very uncomfortable. I think the onus is getting people in and out as quickly as possible. My friend and I live in different areas and were having a catch up. We weren't there for more than two hours which I think is an acceptable length of time. My friend had been there a few weeks before and stayed longer but the difference was she was seated in the orangery and not as visible. I think it will be a different venue the next time we meet.

Visited for late lunch today with a couple of friends, one who has severe arthritis and is unable to stand in the queue to wait for a table. Staff were wonderful and couldn?t have been more accommodating - thank you so much for your kindness and understanding while my friend walked from her car which took her a few minutes and making our visit so welcoming. Looking forward to the next time we visit. Food as always was terrific.

I visited Ashvale tea room on Monday this week. This was only our second visit since it reopened and we looked forward to it. However this was short lived. A very pleasant girl showed us to a table and gave us menus. My husband loves egg Benedict but he cannot eat muffins. When a different waitress came to take our order we asked if it could be done with sourdough. She immediately said a very definite NO it was a set dish. We did notice that sourdough was on the menu with other ingredients. How difficult would it be to change? We both decided to get the fry which was fine . All beit very expensive at £11. I don?t eat mushrooms or black pudding. My husband said he would take them so I asked the girl if they could be put on a separate plate. Her reply was ?do you want it or not ? . Her attitude left a lot to be desired. Also no side plate arrived. We did enjoy the fry but it definitely over priced and we were tempted to leave. I certainly will not be back. There are too many other restaurants to visit where we?re treated with respect I await your reply

Visited today for first time with friends. Upon arrival we were told to stand behind wait sign in entrance hallway. As is was a windy day we moved slightly forward as there were 4 of us. We were told again to move back as sliding doors kept opening and letting in cold air. Then we were brought in and had to wait few seconds whilst waitress looked for a table. Another very rude waitress came and told us to go back out until we were called in. We informed her that we had been brought in. No apology was given. Shown to our seats by the first waitress. A lovely lunch was served. Just think first welcome makes more of a impact to any restaurant!!!. Maybe automatic sliding doors be changed to save rude waitress.

We were kindly given a very generous gift voucher of £50 from a regular customer of Ashvale. Unfortunately due to illness we were unable to use it until this month when we noticed that it expired just 2 weeks earlier. We advised the staff on arrival that the voucher had just expired, they said they couldn?t honour it as it wouldn?t go through the till as their voucher system had changed! We explained that the delay was due to illness and eventually they offered us £25 which was a 50% loss, we were annoyed and didn?t accept it - we would have been happy with maybe 10% loss but certainly not 50% The person who bought the voucher phoned to speak to the manager but they were never around and no calls were returned, We sent an email and they didn?t have the courtesy to reply. £50 may not be much to Ashvale but we are living in a time when the cost of living is so high we are disappointed that the generous gift of a friend was lost due to illness. We have enjoyed the food in Ashvale many times but unfortunately we will not be returning.

Terrible unhelpful staff. Left without eating. Staff keener to be cheeky than actually listen or provide any sort of service

First visit since the re-opening... Now larger and brighter but the food and service is just as good with an varied menu choice. Had to queue even on a mid week lunch time but it was worth the wait.

My daughter bought an 'Afternoon Tea for Two' voucher for her granny on 23rd December 2021. She made the reservation for 4th March 2022 however Ashvale had a fire in February 2022 so the reservation could not be happen. Ashvale opened for business again in February 2023. My daughter rang approximately twice a month from February 2023 - July 2023 to try to make a reservation for Afternoon Tea for Two explaining each time she had a voucher but she was always told the Afternoon Tea's had not yet resumed. When she rang in July 2023 she was told the Afternooon Tea's would be starting at the end of July and to keep an eye on their facebook page. Their facebook page posted saying the bookings for Afternoon Tea's would open on 24th July 2023. When she rang on 4th August 2023 to make a reservation she was told her voucher had expired! She wrote a letter to the owners explaining all of the above and asked for a full refund as there was absolutely no possible way she could have redeemed the voucher as the bookings for Afternoon Tea's only resumed on 24th July but she never got an acknowledgement never mind the refund for £39.90.
