My wife and I charity shop quite a bit and are in Alnwick shops regularly. Today is not the first time we have been treated like this and have witnessed other customers being dismissed in the same way. We wanted to buy something from the window and duly asked politely to look at the item first. A different member of staff had to be summoned, which I understand, as the till needs to be kept safe. So down to buying said item. This was placed in the right place, then the sales assistant proceeded with finger knitting and counting loudly to 20 before bothering to do the sale. Feels like we were a major inconvenience to the till operator. I know its a charity shop and I do make allowances for staff in training etc. but this came across as just plain rude!
