We (4 of us ) went there for Sunday lunch , our starters were lovely but we were so disappointed in our main course , 2 of us ordered roasted beef and 1 fish and 1 pork belly . My husband and our friend had to send the beef back because it was very tough , they actually replaced with the new beef which cut a bit thinner but my husband couldn?t be bother to send it back again so he ate it . My friend decided to have fish instead because he was so disappointed in the beef and he had to wait for 8 mins to get his food while we nearly finished our main course. We were really upset because we would try to enjoyed our Sunday lunch somewhere closed to home but sadly it didn?t happen.

Had Sunday roast here with family...Food was quite nice but nothing you wouldn't get from any other decent eatery. The range of beers was poor (to say they state on google they 'serve real ales,' I was expecting more than what's available at 'One Stop' convenience store)Very expensive for what it was as well, (£10 more expensive than the Hearty Goodfellow in southwell, half the portion size and not a lot of difference in quality!)A 'discretionary' service charge had been added to our bill as well which I feel is rather rude to assume they had deserved it especially after we got asked to leave our table after just over 1hr:40mins bearing in mind their service was slow at best, and we'd spent £300 in total!Overall really wouldn't bother going back again,Find a proper local and leave this place to the darlings and lovelys who like to spend a lot on a little...??Parking: Limited parking

The food was good, my partner found his portion on the smaller side, this issue with our visit was the service. We waited nearly an hour for our mains.we were just finishing our desserts and were still drinking our drinks, the waiter asked us to leave as they had another table booked. We felt this was extremely rude, and poorly handled especially as there were lots of visibly empty tables and not a lot of people waiting, we had also been in the restaurant under 2 hours. The pub adds a 10% service charge we requested we didn?t pay all this as the service is poor. This was a special occasion, and I had chosen this pub based on the Google reviews, I would encourage people to think twice and not ignore the poor reviews about service as I did.

Really tasty food and great service in a lovely little pub / restaurant. Can't faulty anything and it is worthy of its recent Michelin recognition.

We went for the valentine's day menu. The night was off to a bad start straight away when we arrived 5 minutes early to our table not being ready, we then had to wait 20 minutes past our original booking till our table was ready. More couples came in and were seated before us despite other free tables not being given to us from the start. No apologies when we were seated which made the start of the night even worse.Starters were lovely, we had the croquettes and mushrooms on toast which we would recommend. Portion was good and very tasty. For mains we had the chicken kebab, which was nice and spicy but the chicken was served warm, not hot.Dessert was sticky toffee pudding with ice cream, again good portion size and rich in flavour along with Madagascan vanilla ice cream. The food overall was nice and purely on food we'd recommend but the service and experience has put us off. Which is very disappointing as we really liked the venue and go there as a treat on occasion. We left annoyed and unfortunately would not be returning for a long time if at all.I understand it can be a busy evening on event nights but simply making us wait when there are available tables is unacceptable. We booked for a specific time and feel punished for being punctual. If we had of turned up 20 minutes late we'd of probably lost our table so don't find it acceptable, feel like an older couple would not of been put in this position.

Lunch. It is located in Hoveringham village, near Southwell. They have an offer during the week where you can choose two mains for £15.You can upgrade this to include a half bottle of house wine for £19.95. Which we did, obviously.Mains ordered wereSlow Roasted Pork Belly (normal price,£17)Honey Glazed Parsnip, roast potatoes, buttered greens & cider sauce.Battered Line Caught Haddock (normal price,£18)Skinny Fries, Mushy Peas, Tartar Sauce. This is extremely good value if that's all you have.We added a couple of startersBraised Pigs Cheek Croquettes £9Beetroot Gel & Celeriac Remoulade.Whipped Chicken Liver Pate £9Toasted Milk Bread, Fruit Chutney & Pub Pickles. The food was cooked fresh to order, delicious, and well executed.Finished our meal with a coffee £3 and a lovely liquor coffee £7.Although if you just want a snack, they do have some delicious sandwiches such as Battered Fish Finger Sandwich £10,all served with a mini kitchen soup of the day.Its a lovely modernised pub,and if you like cricket, you can watch it on their outside terrace

First visit in a long long time and it was incredible. Amazing food and such a lovely pub. One of the best pub steaks I?ve ever had, with a peppercorn sauce to match. Everything was spot on and we will definitely be back.
