Relaxed, cosy and comfortable pub. Made to feel very welcome (our dogs too) and nothing was too much trouble. Happy staff, good food and just a really nice pub environment.

Great British Pub Awards has awarded the The Plough, family pub of the year 2023. It has a lovely cosy atmosphere, traditional, with open fire places. The staff are very friendly, cheerful, and helpful. Enjoyed the food and did not feel rushed. The pub has expansive gardens, with a play area for the kids. Could not take advantage of this as autumn and dark. Still, this did not stop my some and friends playing rugby in the floodlights.

Second visit, nice enough food (would expect it for the price). Very friendly staff at the table and bar. Manager very personable. However, lack of condiments and portions of gravy, mint sauce, mustard etc was measly. Had a cake for a birthday surprise which took over half an hour to come and several requests. Was hurried from the table for the next booking as a result.Lovely garden area for the kids. The price for a relatively basic Sunday dinner, in my opinion, is excessive.

Hubby and I so enjoyed the tasty food, the cool breeze through the sliding doors onto the lovely garden and the cosy atmosphere. He had roast cod and I loved the roast salmon, served with posh mash wrapped in a short tube of ?seaweed (edible and so tasty) crowned with tender green beans. To top off this gastronomic delight there was a very tasty sauce. If I could have licked the plate I would have :) With a sumptuous sweet each, a half a lager shandy and a delicious iced latte the bill was a very fair £60. The total experience of Sunday lunch for 4 adults and 2 kiddies at a run of the mill Greene King the day before (no desserts) at £80 was incomparable! Thoroughly recommend and will be going again!

We were looking for somewhere nice to go for a non-round number wedding anniversary, and we had had The Plough recommended to us. As my wife is vegetarian, the fact they had a vegan menu available meant this was an easy choice (I can always find something I'll like, but many vegetarian offerings are limited, or contain ingredients that she doesn't like). Service was good - no issues with attentiveness, or the speed of the food. Food was excellent, very tasty, portions neither too big nor too small - we both had starters and mains, and shared a cheese board for dessert, and that was perfect. With a bottle of wine and a couple of soft drinks, the total was less than 3 figures, which was very good for the quality of the food.

Came for lunch and was told to sit outside with the waitress saying she?ll come to us ?if she had time?. After getting drinks from the bar, we asked for a menu with the waitress again saying she would bring them when she was ready. After waiting 20 minutes, we asked another server if we could see a menu to look at the food only to be told the kitchen was busy so we had to wait 45 minutes (for context, there were only about 15 tables maximum, half of whom had already had their food served and the status of the place online was ?less busy than usual?). It would have been nice to have been told the wait time when we had arrived rather than sitting outside and waiting to no avail.

Went here a few weeks ago with a group of friends for a meal and some drinks. The service was excellent, all waiting staff were friendly and helpful - our waiter was Adam and he was brilliant. Food was really good too - looking forward to returning again soon

Had visited Nottingham today 28th July to do some shopping and was disappointed with the shops. Fancied lunch in a nice country pub and found this hidden pub on the Internet. Wanted to say what a fabulous find. Had the scottish cod which was amazing- followed by the sticky toffee pudding. Best we've ever had. Becky who served us was so welcoming and friendly and we would definitely be returning. Thank you Becky for a lovely lunch...

What a little gem of a pub in the beautiful Nottinghamshire countryside. First time here as it?s been on my radar for a while. We were just going to pop in for a pint but the menu was just what we were after - steak night on a Thursday ! Amazing service and great food and beer. Love it!

Afternoon pint, doesn't matter how much, NEVER any staff to serve! No staff anywhere for at least 20 minutes.

Stopped at Plough for sandwich and pint lunch and wasn't disappointed. Had intended using garden (accompanied by 2 dogs) but bit cool. Dogs allowed in 'Drinking' side of bar. Sandwiches great, good bread, plenty filling. Hope to get back on a sunny day and sit in garden.
