Called with my partner to try and arrange a 1yr Fixed Rate Bond, to be opened in joint names but online as the rate was better. We thought from our own research that we needed to have an existing joint account. Rodell, who fielded the enquiry confirmed that our assumption was correct. He quickly opened an Instant Saver in joint names and explained that the best way to open the Fixed Rate Bond would be to deposit the amount in the Joint InstantSaver, then once the funds had cleared open the Fixed Rate Bond via the Nationwide App. He gave us a demonstration by helping us download the App.A very patient, friendly and well informed member of staff. Thank you

I've banked here at Mansfield's Nationwide branch for nearly 20 years and they have always been helpful and friendly but today in a time of confusion and need of help because of a bereavement I was greeted at the front of branch by a incredibly rude employee named David at approximately 12.20pm.I needed a quick question answering so I would know if I needed to join the lengthy queue or if my problem could have been solved over the phone.Instead David was rude and condescending which caused a scene when I asked him what his name was.By the time I had joined the back of the queue and he actually asked me what was my problem he then took me straight into the branch where a lovely lady then sorted my problem out easily and professionally.If it wasn't for the other members of staff who have always been helpful I would be considering moving all 4 of my accounts from Nationwide.Very disappointing experience today !!!

Building societies are always better than bank's, but Mansfield's nationwide needs more counters with a few more staff, other than that staff are helpful and customer service is great, just one thing I need to say is I don't like the fact that nationwide are taking your money and putting it into a holding account days before it's due to be paid out, you should take it on the day of DD's not before.
