Absolutely top quality food here.In no way could I call this my ?regular shop store? but it?s totally dependable for a special occasion.Newark on Trent staff are so polite, friendly and helpful.Recommend Waitrose.

Only one person manning the check out.Premium prices, therefore reasonable to expect premium service. Only when I was offloading my shopping, was a second till manned.

I would never shop here again. The staff are racist, rude and stuck up. The racial profiling, micro aggressions and racism we experienced was disgusting. I have never been made to feel the way I was today in store and will not be going back. The checkout manager also put his hand on my husband which was completely unacceptable and unnecessary.The checkout lady was extremely defensive when we asked a simple question to understand her decision. She refused to sell us champagne because we were with my younger brother (who is underage) as we might be buying it for him (who buys champagne for a 16 year old?!). They said because we all look a similar age they can't sell it, despite myself and my husband being 29 and 30 and both had our ID. If a parent had been with their 16 year old child would they not be allowed to buy alcohol? Technically he could be my child!If we were white, we never would have been treated this way. We tried to reason with the store manager but he was rude and unwilling to listen - constantly talking over us. We have logged a formal complaint with head office.I used to work at this Waitrose branch a few years ago and after this experience and reading the review from a recent previous employee, it's clear that nothing has changed. You desperately need EDI training and improved customer service training. Disgraceful.

Great staff.....Apart from, the security staff. I'm a regular shopper, pretty much every day. I've never stolen a thing (apart from the odd jelly baby from Woolies pick n mix!) yet constantly get followed as I shop. Hence the one star.

My wife and I Called in today for breakfast and found it very dissapointing, it came poorly presented in a dish and not a plate with the eggs covering some of the other items, including the streaky bacon which was a first for me in 66 years as I was expecting rashers and not some undercooked streaky bacon with more fat than meat,Overall a very dissapointing experience for both of us.

I was using the self service check out today and a member of staff was verbally rude to me. I asked her not to be rude and instead of apologising said she would not help me and told other staff members not to help me. Luckily i didn't need help but good to know that customers aren?t valued in Newark Waitrose. !!

Not sure I like the new set up for paying.We have used the self scanning system for many years, where you use a device to scan as you shop.Now with the new system recently introduced where all the scanning devices are grouped together, the advantages of scanning as you shop will be greatly diminished, especially at busy times such as Christmas.

A pleasant break in our journey. Pleasant room with plenty of space and uncluttered. Although the menu is a tad limited, we got what we wanted and it was good. Sad that druggies doing their trade infest the nearby path - but that isn't the store's fault.
