My husband and I have visiting the little john as our new local after moving to Ravenshead. The service we receive from Tracey, Dan and the team have been top class, attentive and ensuring our experience is as it should be. Our last meal this evening was Tuesday 5pm meal. I had the lasagne and my husband had the pie of the day. The taste experience was amazing and subtle touches of brilliance in the food makes it very special. I would whole heartedly recommend a try if you haven?t already and don?t forget Sunday lunch there is something you may not have room for pudding!!

We returned for Sunday lunch after hearing it had changed hands. We pre ordered our food the wait was very long. The food arrived and to be honest for £15.95 a head it was very disappointing, one piece of meat little bit of veg, hardly any gravy and having to ask for the stuffing for the chicken dinner. Will not be returning! Not enough staff either !

Manager was lovely couldn't fault her customer service skills however there was another Waitress walking around serving customers with a strappy top on exposing herself. The food was OK however when myself and my partner came a few weeks ago the food was amazing but tonight 4/10 I ordered the pork belly which I normally order the sauce was lumpy the pork belly was really greasy and the plate was overloaded with broccoli which really put me off the rest of the meal. The food has really gone down hill.

The menu at this place is beautiful! So much range and choice and reasonably priced too. Rack of ribs was amazing and my wife?s steak ciabatta she also said was lovely. Puddings were nice, the crumble was too hot so not really enjoyable but that?s not a huge issue. Only downside really was service, whilst who did serve us was lovely, they seemed very short staffed which did slightly show with them either running around the restaurant or being a little flustered. Overall we will definitely be back as we really enjoyed it, just put more staff on maybe ?

Our first visit as couple a few weeks ago was so good we invited family out for Sunday lunch. I'd booked a week in advance and the first disappointment was so many items from the menu were already sold out & unavailable. Our second drinks order also got lost in the mix but that wasn't a big issue. I was however horrified when we got up to leave ( restaurant was packed) and whilst we're saying our goodbyes to family a member of staff came across and within hearing of other customers challenged the fact that we had paid. My husband politely told him he had already paid which again was challenged. My husband followed him to a till point & produced his receipt at which point we left feeling embarrassed. The same member of staff then followed us into the car park to ask to see the receipt again. Long story short - they had given us the bill for another table which my husband paid and they would not allow for the difference (some £20) to be sorted. So we ended up paying two bills in the hope that one will indeed be refunded. No apology for the embarrassment in front of other diners (and family) plus we're ££ down because of their error.

When I arrived I wasn?t sure as car park was pretty quiet but went in and what a place. Service was out of this world and the Sunday Dinner I had was amazing. Good gravy which is a must and very Tender Beef one of the best pubs I?ve been too. Would recommend

I just want to thank Dan and the team at the little John in Ravenshead. We had my sisters wedding meal there yesterday for 30 people and it couldn?t of been more perfect. The service and food were second to none. The food was absolutely delicious everyone was so pleased. Some had 3 courses or two and everything was Devine They did everything to help make our event very special they even sectioned a part off totally for us it was perfect. Thank you so much. We?ve visited the little John many times over the last 4 years and always had a great meal but yesterday you absolutely smashed it The day was perfect and it made organising and celebrations my sisters wedding even more perfect. Thank you Xxxx Lorraine

I was part of a small group of people. We had an enjoyable meal. Both myself and one of my friends had mobility issues but we both managed to get in and out of the place without any trouble. The staff were friendly and helpful too.

Went here last Monday for my mums birthday, we had red some poor reviews so thought we would go with an open mind. Shown straight to our table and drinks ordered whilst we looked at the Menu. Food ordered and when it came to the table, any worries were soon gone, the food was spot on, hot, fresh and really good tasting. Staff were spot on and the restaurant side was being run by 1 young lad who was superb, when it got too busy even the owner got stuck in and started to do his bit and serve. That impressed we have even booked for Christmas day. Try it for your self, good food and good service.

Having given the restaurant another go after the takeover , safe to say i wont be returning. The Sunday dinner was so disappointing the beef was very over cooked and the vegetables had a fusty water taste. It is a shame as it is in a really convenient location but just seems to have lost its popularity . The Staff were friendly serving the food but just doesn't have the quality of food or atmosphere that the other local pubs offer.

We tried the new woodfired pizzas, the spicy chicken & the pepperoni one, they were both absolutely delicious, thin bubbly bases, cooked to perfection and we will definitely be back, we also had the giant cookie dough for pudding, it is exactly as described and in the photo, large portion but so delicious

Starter came before we got our drinks , all the food tasted of pepper witch i really dislike , even a fried egg came with pepper all over it, sorry but wasn't good ,

Not been since it had been taken over we were pleasantly surprised on the great improvement. Food was superb and plenty of it my partner even managed a dessert which does not very often happen. Certainly can?t complain about the prices have certainly spent more on less. We will certainly be returning again in the very near future. Must compliment the lady in charge of the restaurant, I?m afraid I did not get her name, but she was certainly most pleasant and helpful, explained the menu and what was and was not on this evening and also the rest of the staff that served us.
