This was a brilliant store to go shopping at, with well laid out and easy to find shelves of sweets and chocolate! I bought some Jaffa Cakes cheap for a friend and the tills area has ease of usage.

Now then, one of the best refits I've seen.Post UK purchase of ASDA, the Wharf Road Retford store opted in for a refit alongside the updated branding. This was my first visit to the store since 2020.Pre 2020, the store was seemingly under appreciated by its layout and location. During one visit minimal store lights were functional due to an obvious fault, service continued that day, but it pretty much showed how poor the store could be.Memories of the old store will always be present in mind and online.During the rebranding, an ASDA On The Move (Little Asda) appeared further up the road between Whitehouses and Wharf Road, containing an in-store bakery, which has been rented out, alongside a neighbouring little KFC.Below, a 2023 view of the front of the store and customer service counter area, which has moved to where the cd and dvd collection was previously. The old customer service area has now enabled further in-store lighting by means of available windows bringing a new light to the store.A recent visit was only a quick one I didn't pick up on further changes except that everything was more organised and somewhat easy to find. Was obviously an initial throw, but you get there in the end.Parking charges have seemingly been removed from the store. Previously, however much you paid for parking, could later be removed from your shopping bill. This echoed at the Newark store too.

Been back to this asda store after a few weeks and experience today didn't enjoy, as well as some staff again seemed to have a bit of attitude as well as some customers. Expect from customers but not staff. They have had a move round with the shelfing and my experience wasn't great the chilled products they sell seem to have go even less. And overall for what I spent I wasn't happy. £25 for half a bag and that wasn't even the expensive items. Through covid they had more selection to choose from and prices have shot up. Didn't think Asda be a bad shop to go to for a weekly shop. Even essentiall range I didn't see much of that. Don't think I be shopping as often now at asda.

I suffer from epilepsy and had a seizure in the middle of this Asda. The staff were absolutely brilliant. They stayed with me the whole time and ensured I was okay, even going the extra mile to bring me a drink, some glucose tablets and even some flowers once I came around. Haven?t got enough good things to say. Thank you all so much. ??
