This original review was posted during the pandemic.I was overdue an eye test, so I made an appointment online. It was only a few days after I booked. A very easy website to use.The WB store is COVID safe. You can't just walk in, and they wipe down the seats after anyone sits in them. Distancing measures are also in place.Parking nearby is easy, and better yet, if you go after 3pm it is free right now in an attempt to help local businesses recover from the COVID year. I only found that out after arriving at 2.45pm and I confirmed with a warden that if I bought a 50p/30 minute stay ticket, I would be covered after 3pm (which I was). I knew I would need a new prescription, so the 35 minute appointment would be closer to 1 hour once the retail part of the process had completed.The eye tests were carried out efficiently, one after the other and with no waiting in between. Glad to find out I have no serious eye issues other than what I guess you'd call 'age-related' deterioration.I never had to wear glasses at all until middle age, then I needed reading glasses. Had two prescriptions from Vision Express, and I go back to them simply because I get decent service, and that makes me faithful to anyone. This time out, I've opted for some varifocals because I am now into needing glasses for distance.I cannot fault Vision Express. If I get on with the varifocals, I will opt for a second pair for half the price of the first (probably sunglasses for driving). If I don't get on with them (though I probably will), they will switch me to regular glasses.They are good with servicing as well (which is lifetime of the glasses, I believe). I went in once to ask if they could get nose bridges, as one had fallen off - and it was fixed free-of-charge. Staff are really polite and efficient.Highly recommended.------------------------------2023 Update. Had another eye test this week. I couldn't get on with the varifocals from last time, and only used them occasionally, so I fully intended to have fixed/normal lenses this time.The optometrist was brilliant. I'd mentioned irritation in my right eye, so he did some extra checks and found I had a bit of 'dry eye'. Also during the eye test, he further looked into what I was 'seeing' and discovered what might be the very early part of cataract formation in my left eye, but it was very slight. He explained this was all normal age-related stuff and nothing serious. He pointed out my vision was good, and had not deteriorated from previously, and that there were no other issues (my parents have suffered macular degeneration and cataracts).He recommended short and long distance reading glasses. I had every intention of buying two pairs anyway, and also getting the same lenses in the frames housing the varifocals from last time. So I'm getting long and short with new Oakley frames, and short in the old Oakleys I'd bought last time.I was in for over an hour, but with no untoward waiting.This was the best visit yet.

I went for an eye test and it was very thorough. It had followed a cataract procedure. A problem was discovered and I was referred to the hospital. I am very grateful to the optician for providing such careful and expert care of me.

Come here every year for my eye tests etc. Been coming for many years. Had an eye test this morning - little wait time and great service from Mamoona and Chris.

They were really nice, welcoming and supportive. I can wholeheartedly recommend them. In fact, I have asked them to transfer my records over to them so I can use their services in the future.The only reason I am giving four stars instead of five is that I could not use the payment method of my choice because their system did not allow specifying a different billing information. I hope that they can improve their system on that soon.

Truly awful service. The opticians are great - really superb but the service in getting the glasses is horrendous. It?s nearly been a month and I haven?t received my glasses. No updates at all, I am calling to chase. My eyes are straining really badly and I desperately need my specs. When I call, there is no urgency to find out either just that the lab hasn?t completed them. Here was me thinking these guys did everything in an hour. Try a month and still no word!

Had eyes tested when glasses came I couldn?t read with them at arms length so had eyes tested again next set of glasses were only slightly better . I didn?t want another eye test so had refund for glasses but not eye test now I have to book and pay again with another optician

Brilliant customer service from everyone at West Bridgford Vision Express today. I took a twelve year old Ukrainian boy with only a little English in for an eye test and new glasses. The staff were so patient and helpful to him. Thank you

Very Disappointed.I bought Tiffany Glasses 2 years ago and within the year the name Tiffany had rubbed off completely. These are not my everyday glasses. As they were still in warranty they were replaced. A year later the same thing has happened as well as a break in one of the temples and the plastic on each temple has faded. I've just spoken with the Manager in West B to be told there is nothing they can do as they are out of warranty, also the plastic is my doing due to wear and tear and life style. However they can help but at a shared cost. I feel that as these are again 1 year old Vision Express should take this matter up with Tiffany as obviously there is a fault that needs addressing. These were not cheap glasses but the quality is questionable.and the help by WB is very disappointing. Won't be going back!

Her polite and caring manner at the time of my first visit, was influential in my return to Vision Express to buy sunglasses ?Well done to all the West Bridgford Vision Express team, who help promote the very reason why personal service is still so important.
