Worst sainsburys I?ve been in! None of the escalators work, and the men?s loo always stinks. ( so bad today I suspect they use urine to clean it)

Great place for shopping. There was some food items on sale which I bought.

Good for shopping clothes and groceries but annoying when only one till has someone serving so it?s a long queue or self service yet many staff standing around doing nothing. Not everyone wants to check their own groceries

The last thing I wanna do before leaving Bicester is to buy some stuff and Sainsburys always my first choice because of their fresh & quality stuff. I found staff very helpful. Even they were very busy but happy to help.

Nice sized shop... with ample parking..my only gripe: you have to use your receipt to get out of the gated exit...helpful friendly staff

Would love to know the cost of food wasted by sainsbury's Bicester each day to see if it's more than what is shoplifted. My guess the waste is more yet nothing gets done about it, as that would mean blaming the supermarket instead of all people shopping.

It was rather tired today. Ladies toilets in an untidy state this afternoon, and no smaller trolleys downstairs as they were all in the upstairs car park where people had left them. Apparently there were not enough staff to fetch them - on a Friday afternoon?

Nice and big car park.

I guess there's all that you need from a large supermarket. It's a bit gloomy inside but there's plenty of choice. I don't think there are any compostable bags to put your fruit and vegetables in which is a bit annoying so everything is loose in the basket. You'll also need a £1 coin if you want to use a trolley.

They've fitted barriers everywhere to reduce theft. I'm not a thief, but you leave feeling like one. I didn't show my receipt the exit barrier I just walked straight through the open one from the previous person as I don't walk like a slug. The alarm then went off as I left the store because I had bought chicken, no one questioned me so what is the actual point of it all?

The customer experience at this store continues to decline over time as not enough is being spent on maintaining the store which was great when new about a decade ago now. Most recently I struggled to get my shopping trolley up to the car park. Initially I opted for the travelator since, although slower than the lift, only one of the lifts is working at the moment. After getting almost to the top floor where my car was parked I found the final travelator was broken and I was unable to take my shopping trolley further using that method. I therefore had to revert to using the one available lift. Since the lift was on its way back down to the shop floor when it arrived, I had to ride it back down to the ground floor and then finally back up to the level my car was parked on. Since the lift and travelator are the only available methods to get a shopping trolley up to the car park post shop, Sainsbury's really need to make sure they're maintained properly. Currently if you have a lot of shopping to do it's more practical to visit one of the other Bicester supermarkets.

When I visited it was quite empty of customers so shopping was relatively easy with plenty of products available, plus plenty of parking.

Went to Sainsbury?s several times in last 2 months. Escalators always broken. Toilets are disgusting, door lock missing, no toilet roll and stinks. Generally a dirty store and looks tired.

The disabled toilet is seemingly always out of order, the standard toilets are outrageously dirty not giving Sainsbury?s a good name at all. Issues with the lifts far to often. If sainsbury do value their customers then the toilets should be sorted and kept clean as standard.

Title: A Decade of Frustration at Sainsbury's Bicester: A Post-MortemRating: ????? (2/5)Sainsbury's Bicester, for ten tumultuous years, has been an ever-evolving tapestry of commerce in our community. Its run has been a far cry from the stable, reliable source of products and services it was expected to be, unfortunately marred by a myriad of managerial and operational issues. Today, it's time to look back on the store's lifecycle and consider the potential for its future. The early days of Sainsbury's Bicester were filled with the hopeful energy of a new endeavor. Its initial five years of operation showcased the perfect example of what a supermarket could be. Fresh produce, stocked shelves, and a warm and inviting atmosphere made it the heart of our community. A place where patrons found more than just groceries ? a social hub, a lifeline to daily necessities, and a beacon of commerce. However, a stark contrast was to be seen in the latter half of the decade. What began as occasional stock shortages and minor staffing issues quickly spiralled into a full-blown operational catastrophe. The once bustling aisles were now often scantily clad, with frustrated shoppers routinely leaving empty-handed. High staff turnover, poor store management, and constant changes at the helm resulted in an environment more reminiscent of a ship lost at sea than a leading supermarket chain.Despite this, there is a sense of endurance to Sainsbury's Bicester that cannot be easily dismissed. It has, over the years, managed to maintain a loyal customer base ? a testament to the role it has played in our community. But perhaps it's time to consider the "what's next" for this prime location that could once again thrive with the right approach.Ideally, this space could be converted into a multi-use property. Given Bicester's growing community, perhaps a combination of local artisanal shops, pop-up food stalls, and public space for events could fill the void left by Sainsbury's. This could reinvigorate the area, drawing in locals and visitors alike, providing opportunities for local businesses, and keeping the vibrant energy of the community alive. Moreover, it could become a hub for innovation with a tech incubator or co-working space, serving the growing demographic of remote workers and entrepreneurs in the area. The ample square footage could also cater to a sports or community centre, offering a place for local youth and adults to engage in various activities, fostering a healthier and more connected community.Ultimately, while Sainsbury's Bicester may have lost its way, it was, and can once again be, a place of significance for the community. With the right vision and execution, the site's next chapter can be a vibrant, bustling one. As we close this chapter, we do so with an understanding that even though it ended with a whimper rather than a bang, it was an essential part of our shared history, and we look forward to seeing what the future holds for this location.
