From Ye Olde Three Horseshoes

The Ye Olde Three Horseshoes is believed to be a sixteenth century building nestling in the Evenlode Valley at the edge of the Cotswolds and deemed by Oxford University as the last remaining Anglo-Saxon plot in the town, disbanded by planning permission by the West Oxfordshire District Council in 1987. Originally named The Three Horseshoes, the glorious country pub steeped in history has been bound by several names and landlords. In 1853 the building took the name 'The Railway', as the railway came to Charlbury which was later changed to The Farmers in 1987 offering a very characteristic name to Charlbury as a market town. As of 2004 the current landlord has returned the building to its original post, Ye Olde Three Horseshoes
