Stayed for 2 nights with a dog. The room was spacious and tastefully decorated but in need of freshening up. The carpet was stained, but this is to be expected when it's a dog friendly room. The restaurant was quite dark but served great food. We had a steak and burger and both were delicious. The bar area was heaving and made for a great atmosphere. The staff were all really polite and helpful, and would probably stay again if we return to the area.

Wow, wow, wow. Tom Noest knows how to deliver an exceptional pub experience. We visited midday for lunch on Monday - the atmosphere was cosy and tastefully decorated with the fire burning, incredibly welcoming staff, candles lit on every table and jazz roaring in the background. The food was sensational, it was the type of meal that as soon as your food hits your lips you feel cool. A must visit if in the area.

A snug pub, great atmosphere and amazing food and service. Pub food elevated to a unique experience, come for the butter sauce on that cod..

Booked a table for Sunday lunch with friends. Food was very good (although a bit more gravy on the roasts is always welcome). The service really let this atmospheric pub down unfortunately- errors made and quite a long wait each time something was requested. Pub was very busy and I wonder if a few more staff working would?ve helped the situation

Much more than a village pub! Delicious food. Amazing service. Dog friendly, comfortable surroundings and can?t wait to go back!Food & drinks: Shared starters of padron peppers, salt pig speck and flatbread. Mains roast cod, calves liver and chicken Milanese. Pud sticky toffee pudding, salted caramel ice cream and marmalade steamed pudding. All absolutely delicious and will be back for Sunday roasts!

Sunday lunch - superb! Faultless food, friendly helpful efficient and well trained staff. But it is so GLOOMY! It?s fine to aim for subtle lighting to create an ?atmosphere? and if you were just going for a drink it would be fine. But to try and eat half tidily you do need to be able to see what?s on your plate, especially if it?s a whole partridge (delicious!) which needs dissection. We love this place but please shine a light on your glorious food - it deserves it!

The Bell is in a great location and makes all the right impressions when you pull into the car park and then step through the front door onto proper flagstones and sit down at proper tables. The menu has a broad selection to cater for all and a superb range of wines and ales. Service was efficient without being overbearing. We selected drinks while deciding on menu choices and once we?d ordered starters and mains didn?t have to wait too long for our first course to be served. The starters were 5* so we couldn?t wait for the mains to arrive. Again they were good ingredients well cooked and presented unfortunately though, 3 of the 4 mains were only warm at best, as were the sides, hence the 3 stars. We perused the desserts but decided that we?d had enough, then within 5 mins of this decision we were informed that the table was required back in 10 mins which we thought was a little zealous because if we?d have ordered desserts we?d probably been eating for at least another 25-30mins.

First time at The Bell today, lovely cosy atmosphere and food was fantastic - we wanted a proper country pub lunch and The Bell did not disappoint - shared venison pie fab. Puds too tempting and excellent. Great friendly service too. We?ll be back!

(Pub review)Reserved specifically for a roast dinner and only when seated were we told that?s only served at lunch time. No indication of that on the website where the menus including Sunday menu are listed or the opening times. Incredibly disappointing. The evening didn?t really improve from there; taking over 2h to get through 3 bites worth of starter and a main. A silly amount of that time was waiting for menu (why not just give it when we?re seated??) and an even longer wait to order. Being busy on a Sunday evening shouldn?t really come as a surprise for a pub regularly featuring Cotswolds pub recommendation lists or magazine features, yet the staff seemed unable to keep up.Drinks were empty when the mains were delivered, with no offer for more or ask if anything else was needed. We were in fact only asked if everything was fine after we paid the bill. Undoubtedly would have ordered more drinks and dessert but had no patience left to wait any longer.10/10 food, cosy authentic interior and fair prices but overshadowed by service, or rather lack of.
