Male cashier said a cheque I wanted to pay in had 2123 written as a date. It was written ok to me as 2023, just a bit of adult hand writing. I had to take elsewhere to another branch, where they accepted it without any issue, wasting much time. Besides it can't be 2123 a hundred years from now anyway!

I've been with Nationwide for around 4 years now and today was the first time I've had to go into my local branch. All i can say is WOW. I Walked in the door and a lovely lady see i was looking around and she helped me with my problem within minutes. She told me that she usually works out of the Wallingford branch. This lady is a credit to her profession. Thank you so much for your help i really do appreciate it. ??

Awful customer service. Not even tried to help sort out the issue. Straight NO as an answer, just carried on chatting between themselves. Will close my account today. Its just appalling.

I spoke to a cashier about an adjustment to one of my accounts. She was pleasant and helpful and sorted it out for me. At the next desk, a customer was shouting abuse at the cashier who was asking for identification which the customer was not producing. The Cashier remained calm and polite under duress. Whenever I come into Nationwide, someone usually asks me if they can assist me. The cash dispensers are well lit and instructions easy to follow. I am very happy with the service and staff at Nationwide, Queens street in Oxford city.

I came into the branch a few weeks ago to pay a cheque in. The member of staff who dealt with me (Gemma) was extremely helpful and booked me in for several appointments and detailed all of the product offerings. I left feeling well informed about the services nationwide offered and opened a new savings account. Really top service. Thanks very much Gemma.

Would never recommend! I opened up an ISA and when I wanted to transfer my savings into a new ISA with a different bank, Nationwide lost my money! They didn't even bother contacting me to notify me of their mistake - I only noticed after several weeks when I logged into my new ISA with a different bank and saw a 0 in there.Nationwide wouldn't take any responsibility - apparently my money had a mind of its own and just decided to play hide and seek. One lady I spoke to actually put me on hold for 20+ minutes while she 'messaged' someone in the accounts department and wouldn't even give me the name of who it was. Needless to say I had to hang up after waiting for 20+ minutes. Apparently no one in the accounts department has phones with which they could speak to customers... Absolutely appalling customer service! I only managed to reach any sort of resolution once I got through to a different customer service lady who sounded like she hasn't lost the will to live yet...Add insult to injury, when I raised a complaint, the person on the phone said I had no evidence to take the complaint forward even though Nationwide had lost all of my savings! He kindly sent me £20 as a gesture of good will for my troubles... So very grateful for their generosity; apparently spending many hours on the phone trying to uncover someone else's screw-up and reclaim my own life savings while not being able to sleep at night due to stress caused was worth £20 and not even an apology!

I have had two appointments with Max from Personal Banking services and have been really impressed by his knowledge each time. He is also very approachable, friendly and helpful, which makes talking about finances so much less onerous!

I'm sure there are some competent people that work here, but unfortunately I've yet to encounter any. The same staff members will give completely different information depending on the day, and will refuse to perform tasks that their telephone support insist they should. Nevertheless they will assure you they've "done everything they can" without an apology and roll their eyes if you don't agree. Getting even a signature is like drawing blood from an incredibly petulant stone. Honestly you're better off with NatWest, Lloyds, or HSBC.
