Best bike shop ever. Just bought this very reasonably priced, and beautiful, STEED single-speed from them.

I have always been served very well at Walton Street Cycles. Their service plans are great and they have been great with bigger repairs as well. Everyone is friendly and knowledgeable. Repairs do take a lot of time, though; this is evidence of how much demand their is for their services, but it also means that Walton Street Cycles is less convenient for smaller repairs that need a faster turnaround.

Popped in today with a second-hand bike I bought recently. The staff could not have been lovelier or more helpful whilst giving it a check-up/getting me up and running with great advice & proper gear at a fair price. Would absolutely recommend! Superb customer service.

Bought a used bike from Walton Street Cycles. They are expert, friendly, helpful, reasonable, honest. Talked me out of spending money unnecessarily. Very highly recommended.

I chose Walton street cycles as they supply Gazelle's, I needed to replace a much loved but very old Pashley. The team were very helpful, talking me through the options. I tested 4 different bikes and in the end chose an Esprit which ticks all my requirements. I'm so happy with my new bike - Thank you Team !

The team at Walton street cycles really helped me out with my cycle to work scheme. They were great and went through the process with me thoroughly in the lead up to getting the voucher. Fred was particularly helpful when picking up the bike and went through everything I needed to know. They are also dog and toddler friendly which is a massive bonus! Thank you all and look forward to bringing the bike back in for the 6-8 week check!

The worst experience ever! Greedy shop ever! I don?t even feel sorry for saying the truth. I live in Oxford for years. They charged £40 for one inner tube and one pair of break pad (the market price £8 for inner tube! But close to office,FINE!). 5 days for them to fix bike, FINE. But the day I was supposed to collect my bike, I was told to pay extra £100 to fix the brake!! You?ve got to be kidding me. I?m not stupid and you?re not the genius. I always advocate for supporting local business, but over my dead body I will go to this shop ever.Top tip- make sure you will be charged only once if you have to go to this shop. Ask other shops first, I paid £40 at decathlon for fixing everything which is £140 that this shop asked.I feel sorry that I have to give you a star to comment. Farewell. Do not accept any apologies.

As always an excellent experience. An injured finger prevented me from fixing a puncture on a Brompton front wheel (Walton St Cycles are Brompton experts) - after a call, I took the wheel to the shop and a friendly mechanic fixed it on the spot. Highly recommended.

My dad has been coming to this shop for 40 years disappointed by the advice given to sell him a rusty ex rental bike here four weeks ago for £225. Following his death which they won?t buy back even for a lower amount. They obviously don?t rate their bike at all if not prepared to buy them back from a loyal customer so I would beware with buying a second hand one from buying from them. They did very charitable offer to take it for free so they could make the profit from it again and sell it to a gullible student.Additionally with fitting advice from them I purchased a helmet for my daughter which is too big and not good protection. Will just buy online next time and measure up properly. Thank you

Gary the Bike Doctor was exceptional! Did a maintenance check, went the extra pile to pump up tyres and sort out handles bars (free of charge!). Very kind fellow and made be feel safe and empowered to take my racing bike back on the streets of Oxford. Amazing service and effort - thanks a bunch Gary and Walton street cycles for hiring him!

Often come here for small parts (puncture kits, tubes, spokes etc.) when trying to do my own repairs and the shop is very conveniently situated in town with fair pricing and the staff are knowledgeable, friendly and helpful.Today I was struggling with getting the freewheel off my bike so I took the wheel in and Kevin got it off in no time! Really appreciate the service and will definitely be back next time I need something for one of our bikes.

I was quite disappointed in Walton street cycles.Pros: all the staff are very friendly.Cons: they sold me a pannier rack saying it definitely fitted my bike and that they could fit it for me - each time I visit they tell me they don't have time to fit it, and (having tried to fit it myself) I'm pretty sure they sold me something that doesn't actually fit at all.Edit: the shop replied to this review saying to book a job with them, however in the shop I was told that I couldn't book it in, so I wouldn't necessarily trust that.

I bought a bicycle from Walton Street Cycles last year through cyclescheme. This is supposed to come with a free service 6 weeks into the sales. However it was ridiculous when I tried to arrange the service. Basically the person on the phone said that this can only be book in advance, and only on the date that they gave me, with no flexibility in choosing alternative dates that work for me. Now I am not in Oxford everyday due to work, so this obviously doesn't work on days that I have to be in London, but the person outright refused to arrange a service on a day that works for me.

Good:1. Quality of service received in shop at the point of rental/return. Fredo was friendly and helpful throughout.Bad:1. Poor quality/maintenance level of bike: The road bike that I rented for a triathlon (sprint distance) suffered a flat tyre mid-way during the race abruptly. It happened on a flat portion of the coursewithout any stones/rocks/sharp objects that could have caused it.2. Poor service/assistance rendered after malfunction:- As the rental was due one day after the triathlon, I called to enquire if the faulty bike could be picked up from my location about 3 miles away from the shop. The first response was that a pick up service was unavailable and I had to find a way to return it (I.e basically walk the bike back) before the deadline, or be charged extra for any delays. Only upon further negotiation it was agreed that I could bring the bike to be fixed closer to home, ride it back to return it, and be reimbursed for the repair. No further compensation was offered by the owner.?What I thought could be done better:(1) Offer to pick up the bike at the shop?s convenience, instead of attempting to levy an extra charge for delays in rental return not caused by the customer.(2) offer a small compensation/partial refund to offset the inconvenience caused.?Summary/ TLDR: rent at own risk. But do not expect much help or compensation if there are problems with the bike during the rental period.I welcome clarifications from the owner if any facts above are deemed to be misrepresented.

1st Put wrong parts on my bike which they acknowledged and said they would rectify.2nd told me to collect my bike after having it for 4 days and when I arrived they gave me my bike that hadn?t yet been worked on.3rd once I had collected the second time all seemed fine but 4 days later my front shifter has now stopped working and it?s apparently a ?coincidence?.4th when I asked how much it would cost to replace my front right shifter I was quoted £200 for a £40-70 part.
