We had booked tickets for the light show at Blenheim Palace this Christmas and chose The Feathers Hotel as it is in Woodstock. We were greeted by a roaring log fire and smiling receptionist.Well the reception and whole team are outstanding, friendly and helpful. The hotel is great and although the rooms (we had number 32) are getting worn a refurbishment is on the cards, so all is great. Breakfast was outstanding with a full menu served hot and fresh, again by great staff. I totally recommend The Feathers, which is in a fantastic location for tourists in an area rich in history. Well done The Feathers.

We stayed at the hotel to see the Blenheim Palace Christmas Lights this weekend, with our friends and our respective kids. The location and food were brilliant but what was exceptional was the staff and how amazing they were with our two toddlers. Nothing was too much for them, they were so flexible and accommodating with the kids which made the whole experience wonderful and easier to enjoy. Thank you so much! Would highly recommend this hotel if you have little ones!

Have stayed here many times over the years and have always enjoyed it. My mother booked afternoon tea for my 40th before going to Blenheim for the Christmas show; we were greeted with a smiling receptionist and the fire lit, we had the most lovely time and they ensured all were looked after - they checked my nephew was okay with his sandwich and no issues with my sister who has a nut allergy. The scones were delicious and a great selection of freshly made sandwiches. Fantastic.

Nice hotel due to close in early in 2024 to close for refurbishment.Fabulous food 5* absolutely lovely fine dining. Original dishes full of flavour and perfectly cooked. We can't wait to go back after the refurbishment. All the staff are friendly efficient and helpful. The rooms are ok but need updating hence the refurb.Rooms: The rooms should be good after the refurb. They are clean and an ok size. Currently the beds are tired, the heating is either roasting or off, the window frames need replacing,Nearby activities: Lovely town to explore, Blenheim Palace almost next door. Good walks nearby.Walkability: Flat in town with plenty of lovely walks around in the Cotswolds.Food & drinks: Not cheap but excellent value for money. Memorable comfortable and immensely enjoyable meal service.

The Feathers is wonderfully situated in the heart of Woodstock and is only a couple of minutes walk from Blenheim Palace. The staff are attentive and very pleasant (shout out to Viviana) and the food served is much higher end than "pub grub", although burgers, etc are also included in the menu.I hear they're closing from January to April 2024 for a big refurb and, as the hotel is already very good, I'm looking forward to seeing it adter the refresh.

Waiter handed out afternoon tea menus but only allowed us to order cream teas. We were asked online if it was a special occasion and indicated it was a birthday. However no mention of this was made on the day. £78 for three cream teas with a glass of champagne seems high and we felt a bit flat.

Stayed for 2 nights. Room was OK but extremely poor lighting. Had booked for dinner both nights but cancelled second after disappointing meal on first night. Had to wait a very long time for food even though restaurant wasnt that busy. Only had once course (plus they brought us some 'tasters') but we were still charged £22 service !!! The food itself was OK but not much of it. Wouldnt recommend eating there if you stay - lovely meal at Brasserie round the corner on the second night.

Avoid. Was really disappointed with this place. Me and my wife came here for a little break away from the kids for 24 hours together. Was going really well until dinner when we was charging £110 pounds for one course. I was told because we didn?t want two courses we was charged more, how is that possible?. The actual food we ordered came to £40 and was charged £70 for miscellaneous food which I?m yet to receive. What?s happened here is we were ripped off.

We had a fabulous one night stay over the bank holiday. We asked for a large bath on arrival and had our room generously upgraded. We also had dinner within the hotel in the Churchill Room which I would highly recommend. Exceptional service and an interesting and delicious menu, worth every penny.

Booked one night on our way to visit friends, needed somewhere to eat & drink on a Sunday night & Woodstock seemed to have plenty of options, how right we were! We had to drive around a little to find on street parking (hotel reimbursed no problem), but there is a free car park within a 5 minute nice walk passed a pub if you don?t stop for a beer! The hotel is a perfect location for Woodstock, staff extremely accommodating, polite, friendly but professional. The Superior room was double aspect, large & comfortable for us & our Cockerpoo. My husband couldn?t get the TV remote to work & when he rang down someone came straight up & replaced to batteries in the remote. He was lovely. I asked for real milk for my tea & more tea bags at reception & again the man was extremely accommodating & instantly got me some. The shower was great, room clean, the only thing that spoilt it was the recycling lorry coming at 5:40am Monday morning for an hour tour. Hardly the hotel?s fault! Breakfast was extremely well cooked & good ingredients. Service again, excellent. They even offered to set a table up in the bar so we could take our dog but we left him in the car instead. Excellent stay, highly recommend.

Had a wonderful one-night stay at this magnificent property only 20 mins away from Oxford. The Feathers hold such a rich history, it is worth a visit regardless. We parked for free in the fire station parking which was only 3-5 mins walk from the hotel. Our room was nicely decorated and stocked with essentials. The reception staff and waiting staff were cheery and easy to talk to. Some guests wished us good morning, it absolutely made our day. Lastly, words are not enough to describe how amazing the breakfast banana & walnut bread served with cream fresh was!! Thank you very much team at The Feathers.
