When looking towards the banking industry, it's hard not to notice the might of the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS). Forming in 1727, the company is not far off celebrating 300 years and they have made many acquisitions along the way; most notably NatWest and Ulster Bank. With these three pulling together, they continue to progress and now have over 92,000 employees within 700 branches. Although a significant amount of these are in Scotland, there are various branches in the larger towns and cities across England and Wales.
Focusing on both personal and business customers, RBS has recently been making the move towards phone and internet banking. In addition to this, they have also promoted their 'mobile branches' which are converted vans offering services to rural areas. Currently, there are 19 of these special branches after the first was introduced in 1946.
