Mum and I stayed Sunday and Monday night. Bed and breakfast. Last minute booking, picked as my mum has stayed a few times. She enjoys the shops, and the location, being part of the mall is a winner. The good points: Great location, which is ideal if arriving by bus or rail. Modern hotel, temperature easy to control in rooms, beds very comfy and rooms very clean. Breakfast was lovely. Cooked or continental. Buffet style, with plenty of choice. Felt it was good value for money. Staff lovely, from reception to housekeeping. Room for improvement: Some of the public areas are a bit tired. Clean but worn. I think that standard rooms should have a mini fridge. Not stocked, but other similar hotels understand that people like a fridge for juice and milk. There are ice machines, but the rooms would benefit from decent size glasses. Would I return? For a no frills break, to shop and enjoy the city centre. Absolutely!

The place was unhygienic the water from the water dispenser dispensed flakes of dirt and the sink did the same thing the bottles of soap barely had anything in them when we arrived the ironing board was broken the lights in the room were all lamps the only proper light was the one in the bathroom

The hotel itself is nice and the tv has A LOT of channels to choose from. Also, it's set in a mall which is great. Although, there was a lot of mix-ups when we were checking inn. The staff had little to no knowledge about the whereabouts of the hotel. We booked including breakfast but they always asked us if we had with breakfast, everyday. The room had no mini fridge, they never clean the bathroom or change the sheets. And the showerhead was covered in mold, as well as the shower curtains...yuck. All in all, just ok, would not visit again tho.

We stayed as a family at the Union Square. My son particularly loves this hotel. The staff on reception went over and above to accommodate his request about the room and the view. Both Scott and Rosa made my children feel really special. The hotel itself was clean and comfortable. The bedroom was well appointed and included everything we could have needed, including a hairdryer. The breakfast was really good quality. We opted to have a longer lie and popped down for breakfast approximately 30 minutes prior to the end of service. The food was still plentiful, with a good choice, tasty and hot. Both kids enjoyed the continental options too. We will continue to be repeat customers, largely down to the lovely staff. Thanks for a super wee stay.

Very convenient hotel because it is practically within a shopping centre and very close to the bus and train stations. The room was a decent size, bed comfortable and the place was clean. However breakfast let the whole place down. The sausages and bacon had been deep fried and as for the fruit juices these had all been watered down and tasted of nothing but coloured water. We each picked up a bagel one morning and found them both very hard. The bread was just a very basic tasteless loaf and we very disappointed to find no rolls whatsoever. We both felt a bit disappointed with the reception staff. We asked on two separate occasions for directions to Hazelhead Park which we had heard so much about but neither the male or female on duty at the time had any idea as to where it was. I would have thought that as this was a four star hotel a map would have been produced or somebody could have shown us where to catch the bus. The female literally put her hands over her head saying this was above her. The male merely apologised saying he had no idea where it was. We both expected a map to have been produced and didn?t understand why being in such a well known city centre hotel nobody could direct us there.

Stayed here in business a couple of times now. Great location and comfortable room and bed, but the food is always underwhelming and overpriced. Considering how many restaurants and eateries there are in the vicinity. It?s clear that the hotel is the bread winner as if they relied on the restaurant/bar they?d have shut up shop a long time ago Typical example of a disastrous meal. I ordered the porcini salted rump steak, medium cooked. It arrived as 2 small pieces of steak. One was severely overlooked and as chewy as boot leather. Bland and tasteless.. no porcini salt used on this steak and the other piece was cooked right this time but again was extremely chewy like it was a very cheap cut of meat but more concerning it had a very strong gamey /gone off smell. My guess it was on the turn but it wasn?t pleasant in the least. Served alongside a large raw tomato, a pathetic bowl of fries and a charred lettuce wedge that had seen better days. All yours for £18 of your pounds!! Ridiculous. I ended up ordering a totally different meal after I sent the steak back in disgust. The new meal didn?t fare much better. I told the waitress that the chef should be hanging their head in Shane allowing food like that to leave their kitchen!! Awful. Stay here by all means but avoid the restaurant/bar food and choose to eat elsewhere if you have the option

Booked this hotel as we were going to a gig in the P&J. The location is the best you could ask for. Adjacent to the train station and bus station (which has regular buses to the P&J). Next to a taxi station too. The reception is situated within a major shopping centre in the city centre which hosts many major clothing stores and chain restaurants (Frankie and Benny?s, TGIs, Wagamama, Starbucks etc Rooms were really clean, spacious and had pretty much everything you needed for a comfortable stay. Beds were so comfortable! Ice machines on each floor were temperamental which mean a trip to reception, but other than that it was faultless. Value for money.

Very noisy room with poor lighting. Food not great quality but at top restaurant prices. First night able to order room service no problem but second night told I couldn?t order as card (same card used first night) was not authorised. Main door locked at 11pm so not great if you want to eat in the mall. Would not recommend & won?t stay here again. Especially as there are much better quality hotels nearby around same price.

Has the best Jaykeys. So good, they even buy alcohol for teenagers, waiting outside. The staff know this, and don't care.
