Great atmosphere and the staff were really friendly. Excellent food and even biscuits for our dog! Booked in advance and table ready straight away

Sean and Jack gave us a lovely welcome when we visited recently with our dog. Made to feel at home with even a blanket and some biscuits for the dog. Although we hadn't booked, there was no rush to vacate the table, even as the place began to fill. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. Sean's idea to introduce a 'doggy' menu was mentioned and I think this would be welcomed by pet owners. This certainly won't be our last visit here.

What a refreshing change from the usual drab, dreary pub experience. The place has a great atmosphere, staff are super friendly and have a great service ethos. The food is good honest pub grub, nothing pretentious or pomp, but served hot and tasty and in good time. Don?t be put off by the lack of Kurb appeal from the outside, inside this place has great energy. Highly recommended!!

A group of us were in the area for a golfing trip & visited the Boudangait again, having been there last year !. We had a lovely evening, with excellent food, good selection of beers & wine & a cracking atmosphere. Would highly recommend having a meal here as you will not be disappointed !

A week before I had been at a Markinch venue for a ?big? family celebration which proved to be a disaster. This hotel had been booked for another get together with friends but was hastily changed to The Boudingait in Cupar. Must have been ?Devine intervention? because this venue was the complete opposite to the previous weeks venue. From the moment we walked in we were made to feel welcome in this cozy pub come eatery. The service was excellent, professional but friendly, and the food lovely. Great atmosphere in this busy premises but never too noisy that conversation became difficult. This establishment certainly warrants 5 stars!

I have visited the Boudingate twice in as many weeks and both times, the service, food and wine had been excellent. My son is celeiac and we have never had an issue with this, his dietary requirements were fully met. We have been served by 2 different people each time and both of them have been friendly and welcoming. The macaroni cheese is top notch, I plan on working my way through the menu with plenty more visits. We?ll done everyone, great wee place.

We arrived in Cupar by accident rather than design and ventured into The Boudingait primarily because it?s dog friendly and we had our 2 labradors. It was beautiful, cosy and comfy. The service was excellent, Victoria and Sean were welcoming and attentive. The place had a good vibe, everyone was really friendly, the dogs were very welcome too. Really good menu, then wow, the food was fantastic, - proper good, delicious food, thoroughly enjoyed. Then the bill - excellent value, we have often paid a lot more for much less. What an absolute gem and we will be back in Cupar even if only to dine at The Boudingait - thank you for a lovely evening.

Place was very friendly and a great atmosphere for us to enjoy a night out with friends. Table was waiting for us and we didn?t feel like we?re on top of the other tables adjacent , even though the room was full.

Passed the Boudingait when out in Cupar and was drawn to the boards outside which were simple, not OTT and quite funny so on looking in the window it looked very welcoming so decided to give it a go - had a right few duff meals in St Andrews over the last week so while hopeful we tempered our expectations. Called and made a booking g very close to our desired time so positive start. Upon arrival we were greeted by smiling helpful staff who directed us to our table. First impressions were again positive; very cosy and traditionally decorated with very comfy chairs, always a plus with our old backs. Menus is very compact listing traditional fare with all the classic pub favourites. Everything sounded great but we opted for garlic chilli prawns with garlic bread to start and Mac&cheese and I opted for the Sloppy Joe Burger with Chilli . Very nice selection of drinks including local ales spirits, all of which were housed behind a great looking old style bar. The starter was delivered without any fuss but after tasting this should have been piped in as it was simply MAGIC! very tasty, loads of prawns and the 2 pieces of homemade garlic bread were delightful. The mains didn?t disappoint either: Mac & Cheese served with chunky chips and fresh salad, and on first taste generated a smile that said it all - I didn?t sadly experience this delight but a happy wife was worth it?. My burger again hit the mark: homemade burger, fresh bun, covered in chilli with added jalapeños, chunky chips and a very tasty fresh mixed salad. Scoffed in quick time, with say no room for the special deserts. Finally a great meal was had. The food, 3 pints and one John Panton all for under £50, but the real winner was the Boudingate who delivered everything we wanted and have won our future business from those chances in the auld toon. Big 5?s all round which is the only customer request by the owners ??

What I love the most about The Boudangait Gait is you are actually looked after by real people, instead of "download the app.....". Food, as always, superb. Staff, friendly, attentive and interactive, which I love. Highly recommend a visit.

We arrived and were seated quickly. Drinks arrived and fod shortly after. Kept trying to make eye contact with staff who looked at us and continued to serve other tables. Never offered another drink. Did we want anything else? Would we like a dessert? An hour and a half we were there chatting with noone paying attention. Very disappointing! Food was average, service was terrible.

My husband and I popped in to see if we could get some food after a day trip to Edinburgh. It was around 7.30pm and the place was packed, but luckily there was a table of people just leaving, so we were able to be seated. We both chose the fish and chips, and we weren't disappointed. The fish was cooked to perfection, and the batter was nice and light. The service was excellent, and it certainly seems they have got everything right, even down to the little extras in the toilets! We would definitely recommend to others.
