I had a nightmare experience ordering from Brora from the United States. I ordered a $300 skirt--which was already expensive enough. The skirt didn't fit, so I returned it, following the process that Brora told me to do. I noticed that the return wasn't being processed, so I contacted the company to see what was going on. They claimed that they hadn't received the item. I gave them the tracking number, but they said that they didn't know what to do with it. So I did research myself, and it turned out that the return was being held in the UK for 95 pounds in customs fees. Royal Mail had contacted Brora and asked them to pay these fees in order to obtain the return (as Brora ultimately admitted it had done). But Brora categorically refused to pay the fees or to help me in any manner. If anyone was to blame in this situation, Brora insisted, it was my postal cleric. Apparently, instead of just selling postage when someone wants to ship a package overseas, it is her responsibility to look up what the import duties will be in different countries and to advise me on whether or not to send the package via the US Postal Service. Usually, high end companies try to make the customer's experience a positive one, but Brora apparently has no interest in doing so. I have ordered countless items from the UK (from Boden, Pure Collection, Celtic & Co., etc.) and have never run into a problem returning items like I have here. If you don't want to spend what amounted to $141 (in mailing costs and import fees) to return an item, avoid Brora at all costs.

Last minute change of scenery lans when weather delayed our trip to Edinburgh to meet our daughter. She spent a lot of time deciding on gifts for the family to bring back. Thank you to whoever was so helpful with her! The jumpers are fabulous. Great colors and quality.

I ordered a velvet dress online and collected it from the Edinburgh branch, but when I tried it on in the shop I noticed it had colour discolouration. The assistant in the shop assured me that this would be corrected if I ironed or steamed the fabric inside out. I therefore asked her to steam the dress in the shop, but contrary to what she had assured me the discolouration was still very prominent! The assistant agreed to order me a replacement dress, and phoned me a few days later to inform me it was in store. Despite having been assured that the replacement dress had been checked for marks and/ or discolouration, once again when I tried it on in the shop colour discolouration was very evident in the velvet at the bottom of the dress. (The shop assistant Sheena herself remarked on how prominent this was).Given the prices Brora charge for their clothes, I think it is disgraceful that I was inconvenienced by having to go in to the city centre on two separate occassions to collect what was definitely substandard dresses which had supposedly been checked by the staff in the shop?!When in the Brora shop the first time my partner and I looked at a pair of gold plated stud earrings which were reduced to £35.00. We decided to buy the earrings online when we got home and noticed they were only £19.00, and therefore ordered them at the further discounted price. When we returned to the Brora shop the second time to collect the dress (as outlined above) we noticed they were still selling the earrings for £35.00 even although they were for sale at £19.00 online!!I would advise customers to double check prices on line to compare them with the prices stated in this shop, and would also advise them to check garments sold in this shop incase they are infact imperfect.

Favourite store, lovely staff and Brora is a great company, very supportive of the local area and beautiful clothes. I've got several Brora items I've had for getting on for 10 years now that are in good condition.
