Average chain hotel by the industrial estate in Edinburgh, definitely overpriced. The breakfast was varied, nothing special but could be improved with hotter counter for the hot food section. We wouldn?t rush back to this hotel. There were no windows in the room, which made it feel claustrophobic and the bathroom door was a glass panel not proper door so, we felt uncomfortable using the toilet due to not having privacy.

The hotel was conveniently located by the airport and the University. It was a clean and lovely decorated hotel! They had a full bar! And the breakfast buffet was excellent! The service was wonderful and Matthew at the front desk was very cheerful at checkout

I have stayed in this hotel on a few occasions now and the service has been excellent on each occasion. I was welcomed by Matthew who is very helpful, knowledgeable and engaging which is always a good start. The hotel is modern, well maintained and clean. The location is just outside of the city centre but in a beautiful location inside a university grounds which avoids all the busy traffic. The rooms are spacious with good facilities and decent Wi-Fi which is always helpful on a business trip. The food is really good with a small but quality menu in the evening and a great selection for breakfast. Every member of staff I have interacted with have been friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. In summary an excellent hotel in a convenient location with great staff!

First time staying here and pleased to write that I had an excellent stay! Really friendly and helpful staff, nice clean hotel, quiet room (peaceful nights sleep!) and great food. Stayed on the 4th floor which was so quiet. Will certainly be booking again!

Liked · Ideally located out of Edinburgh city centre for those wanting to avoid traffic jams. Warm welcome on arrival and really friendly staff. Modern hotel with good facilities. Breakfast was the best of our trip. Disliked · The bathroom was a bit 'odd'. It's a frosted glass box in the corner of the room which left little to the imagination. Fine for us but could be awkward for others. The evening menu was much smaller than expected (I researched ahead and it was a lot smaller than the menus available online) but the food we did order was great! There were issues with the guest wifi while we were staying and with zero phone signal, it made external communications difficult. The staff overcame the issue and provided access to private wifi instead.

The hotel is bland and not tasteful. Customer service is terrible. Don?t stay here if you are expecting any kind of good customer service or the usual Marriott standards. In particular, Matthew the so-called duty manager (what a joke) is rude, unfriendly and unhelpful.

We stayed at this hotel for six nights, and it was a good (though not perfect) choice. The good: The local is out of busy Edinburgh. It's at a university, and the setting is lovely. There are beautiful woods nearby and a couple of lovely, peaceful walks. The parking is free, right in front of the hotel, and easy to use. The hotel restaurant is good. Breakfast is great. Evening choices are limited, but good. The staff is enthusiastic and friendly. The not-so-great: The shower needed more hot water and better water pressure. The service could be better. I had to request a refill of the shower gel container three times over two days, but finally someone responded with several small tubes of gel. When we checked in we requested that a free night certificate be applied to the final night. (The other five were reserved on points.) The front desk person said to check back with him and he could arrange it, so we got the idea that he could make that happen. But he was off for a few days, and when he returned, he said he couldn't do anything for us. We paid a very high price for that final night -- and if we had known that this would be the case, we would have made other arrangements. Also, when we checked in, we were told that breakfast would be at a discounted rate because of Marriott status, but when we got the bill, we were charged the full amount. The front desk said that they would email our invoices, but they never arrived. A subsequent phone call to the financial person resulted in both a refund of the overcharged breakfasts and emailed invoices. (Don't know what the problem was before.) In short, the hotel has several good points, and we would probably stay there again. However, we would be certain to check every detail carefully.

I stayed over the weekend with my friend for the Beyonce concert and honestly, I can say, I was pleasantly surprised by the hotel?s staff and location. I was welcomed in by the lovely Matthew, who made the check-in experience very enjoyable and effortless followed by the great F&B staff who were very polite and friendly with us throughout our stay. Coming from a hospitality background, sincerely, I cannot find a fault to this hotel and I will be back whenever I will visit Edinburgh again!

A hotel with everything you need. The staff was wonderful, Matthew checked us in and made us feel immediately welcome and happy. He definitely went above and beyond to make sure everything was ok with our reservation. Also appreciated the pantry being open for late night snacks and wine!

1. Hotel Location: We stayed at the Courtyard Edinburgh West Hotel (by Marriott) during a recent trip to Edinburgh, Scotland. The hotel is located on the Edinburgh Campus of Heriot-Watt University, across from the Petroleum Institute. It is about 10 minutes from the Edinburgh airport, 5 minutes on foot from Heriot-Watt University, and 2 minutes? walk to the Lothian bus station and 30-40 minutes by bus to the famous Price Street and Edinburgh Castle. 2. Facilities of hotel: The 4-star Courtyard Edinburgh West Hotel (by Marriott) welcomes both tourist and business travelers. The hotel has four floors and offers standard double rooms and standard twin rooms. Each standard room is 24m2 in size. We were surprised as soon as we entered the hotel lobby. The interior was warm and inviting. The hotel is cutting-edge as it has a great atmosphere and interior. In addition to comfortable accommodation, the hotel offers its guests a variety of services and activities. It offers a grand lobby with several tables and a large gathering space. The hotel has only one restaurant, which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The main restaurant on the ground floor of the hotel offers a magnificent view of Edinburgh. We regularly had our daily breakfast in this one and only restaurant. There are three elevators around the restaurant, but there are rarely people in line. Visitors and guests can also leave their vehicles in the free self-service car park which is located opposite to the reception. Finally, the wifi was great and no problems. 3. Nicely Decorated standard double Room with a comfortable King size Bed: The 24m2 standard double is nicely decorated, fragrant, and ornamented. It has a very comfortable extra-large king size bed. The room includes complimentary amenities such as flat-screen TVs, iron, an ironing board, a desk, a safety box, and a small refrigerator. There is also a kettle with free coffee and tea. The hotel upholds excellent hospitality standards and provides high-quality services in accordance with Marriott's high standards. The Room is always kept tidy. However, the sound from the connected room posed a significant discomfort for us. On the other side, I am pleased with how quickly the hotel resolved this issue. This demonstrates the hotel's attention to detail as well as its prompt response. We also had a problem with the "bangs" we heard as the visitor in the room above us walked. Hence, I advise staying on the fourth level and requesting a room without connecting rooms. The size of the bathroom was adequate. Grohe and Ideal Standard fixtures (including the sink, toilet, and shower, among others) are of high quality. There is one sink, a large mirror, a toilet, and a corner rain shower enclosure. The toiletries provided were also adequate but not comprehensive. Body and face towels are provided. The toilet paper and facial tissues are of good quality. The hotel provides high quality and pleasant scent shower gel, shampoo and hair conditioner from Nirvae. Unfortunately, no body lotion, razors, toothpaste, or toothbrushes are provided at the hotel. 4. OK Breakfast Buffet: We tried the breakfast served in the restaurant on the ground floor. Breakfast was served from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on weekends, and from 6:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on weekdays. The food was mostly satisfactory. Muslims may have difficulty obtaining halal meat; however, vegetarian and egg options are available. Because breakfast is the same every day, it is easy to become bored. 5. Excellent staff: The Courtyard Edinburgh West Hotel (by Marriott) provides friendly and efficient service. Check-in and check-out went off without a hitch. The hotel provides competent and timely assistance. Everyone works hard to keep you happy. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Even the smallest details are given careful consideration. They welcomed us with open arms and were extremely friendly. They provide excellent customer service. They were doing it in a dependable, efficient, and precise manner. They were prepared to meet our demands, s

I like to relax and watch the world go by in this hotel whilst my son plays for Hearts. However I was applaud at how the extremely rude Manager spoke to his female member of staff whilst I relax. He made the poor excuse that his voice was overpower when I complained. But he was a 100 bully.

Stayed for two nights with my wife and two teenagers. Got a room with two double beds, very comfy and bathroom was huge so plenty of room. Staff at reception and through hotel were very friendly and helpful. Had breakfast in hotel which was standard. Tip for anyone driving into Edinburgh, parking is very expensive on street up to £4.90 an hour but if you use nco on castle street and are visiting castle you can get your parking ticket validated in castle where you get audio guides and cost of parking for up to 5 hours is £12.
