Spent one night here, having been unable to stay in our usual accommodation. For a Travelodge you do expect a standard of accommodation and service, which for the price was adequately met. However, this particular Travelodge was a bit like a maze and I found it hard to actually locate my room, despite the signage in place. The room itself was spacious and clean, but the heating had a mind of it's own and turned on at 3am at 22 degrees...The view out of the window was quite depressing, but the building itself is grand and characterful.Location-wise, it is great for getting into the centre and is close by the tram stop at Haymarket. For a short stay, this isn't a bad choice, but not outstanding either.

Just a few minutes walk from bustling Haymarket along wide, quiet residential streets, this charming Travelodge is conveniently located and full of character, especially it's paneled bar and restaurant, and its traditional staircase. The surrounding area was very quiet and a good night's sleep in a large room was assured. Great value breakfast in the morning and super friendly staff. Easily walkable to the City Centre and sights of Edinburgh. This Travelodge has large family rooms, but also some single rooms too. I hope to return soon. A great find!

I was selecting a pet friendly, reasonably priced hotel close to the city centre. It is exactly what I needed. Staying in a Georgian epoch house was what exceeded my expectations! Nice area around. Quite quiet. The only disappointment is the bathroom, water is too slow and not very hot, the sink git blocked. On the positive side, it is warm, each rooms has an independent heater, kettle, supply of tea/coffee, menu, beautiful view, opening windows. I guess some guests tried smoking inside, and we had to fire alerts, one of them at 2 am, which was not really pleasant . Anyway, the positives outweighed those drawbacks and I will come back to this hotel next time in Edinburgh.Walkability: Haymarket is just in a short walk from the city centre. Actually, this is a broader city centre. Also good walk to the Deans Village

Great room, big, clean and quiet. Overall great value. Reception staff very friendly and helpful. However had to pay for internet, 3£ for 24 hours - internet I did pay for wasn?t very strong. Not having internet included was frustrating, and a surprise when I arrived.

Booked two separate rooms, 1 person in each, single beds!. If we had been told about the single beds, we would not have taken them. Nice staff on reception.Rooms were clean and compact. I would say that most people would prefer a queen sized/double bed. My telly was a 22inch, small, I couldn?t read the channel, which is not the end of the worldEn suite shower/bathroom was immaculate and spotless, albeit very small, and bare! There were wall fixed handwash at sink, and wall fixed shower gel, none of them worked. There was one bath towel and one hand towel. No bath mat. The push in flusher was broken but worked with a bit of perseverance. The tea making facilities consisted of one cup, one spoon, 4 milk cartons, 4 sugar ,sachets, 3 tea bags, 2coffee sachets and 4 sweetener sachets. I loved the kettle, perfect wee utensil, you can fill the kettle once and use the whole contents of the tray (?).The bed was actually very comfy with clean bedding, just too small. The windows were the wooden sash and case windows, compliant with listed buildings, but, rattled all night, it was very windy outside, perhaps a few napkins strategically placed might have helped. The dinner menu, more limited than it says on website. We had dinner in the on site cafe. It was not cheap and was not good, absolutely microwaved, the whole thing, including pudding, not the ice cream though. We were the only ones there, the same at breakfastBreakfast was okay, but not hot, not really well set outGood pointsLocation, location, locationClose to everything and in a beautiful area. It is probably worth double the price just for thisQuiet hotel, in the way everybody was respectful and considerate of each other, not always guaranteed, we have stayed in 6 different travelodges.I would, personally, stop offering food, its awful and the amount of eateries on the doorstep is amazing.I would put an extra few tea bags etc on offer, it makes a difference for a few more pence, the emphasis on the ?room for one? is verging on insulting.I know this is coming across as all negative. I consider it necessary. We would go back, but to a room with a double bed and we now know not to order food, we paid for breakfast by the way, it advertised free breakfast. We will be back, soon.

Great value Travelodge, within walking distance of local bus services, tram and Haymarket train station. The room was a bit dirty around the fan and the woodwork , The bathroom had a broken soap dispenser and stained bath. If these issues were sorted, this would be an excellent place to stay. Staff were polite and gave great customer service.

Bargain on the edge of the City centre.Numerous pubs and eating houses nearby and easy access to the City and the Airport.Nice and quiet. Warm room, though basic, decent curtains and an acceptable breakfast for less than nearby Cafés.Hot water took a while to come through, but was fine once it got there.Would definitely stay again

Clean room with decent amount of space. Bathroom with a bathtub. We took the superior suit which is still cheaper by like 50-70£ a night than ANYTHING in the city center and enjoyed absolutely AMAZING view of Edinburgh. If you don't mind a walk the hotel is just ~25min walk through nice streets from the city center. The area of the hotel has some good dining places and tesco close by. I think it's one of the best price-expitiance balance in the whole city.

My boyfriend and I stayed in this hotel last week when we were exploring Edinburgh. The location was nice and the rooms were comfy. I felt they could?ve had more tourist attractions up especially the ghost tour bus. Which my boyfriend and I would?ve loved that when we were there. The hotel was really good ?

It's OK. The family room was big, but sparse on fixtures and fittings - no draws, no wardrobe. The shower, on the 3rd floor, was weak, but plenty of hot water. The hotel is clean and OK. The location is great for the bus station, railway station and Edinburgh City centre. It's a five minute walk to the bus station and thus buses to the zoo.

A very comfortable repeat stay. Any problems are swiftly dealt with by staff with no fuss (extra towel, oiling the door hinges to the WC). The breakfast has improved since last year. Excellent. The only negative about our room (209) was the exceptionally creaky floor and ceiling. However, we will book again as it is well priced and handy for the station.

Good location, although noisy (bus going by, can hear night life). Room was decent, clean. Staff was friendly.Lift available as well. Good breakfast. Good place to stay for family rooms.
