Not open 24 hours as stated on website and shop staff very unhelpful!

I use this post office almost every day and the staff are just rude! I know one of the ladies left recently... I wonder why and how she got a job elsewhere. The older woman with the blonde hair is very rude too and rushes everyone. She recently served someone with poor English but treated him as though he were stupid! This particular lady also told me that with proof of postage, you cannot print this on the receipt. I used to use the post office in St Vincent Place who always did this and more recently another staff member did this for me at the Glassford Street location so this employee obviously lied. The ginger man seems nice and I think they have a new female manager with light brown hair in a ponytail who also seems nice. The shopkeeper is a nice man.

Surprised at the poor reviews this place has had, although these seem to be from a while ago so maybe they've improved it before I ever attended. I've posted two sets of Christmas presents from here recently and had a perfectly fine experience both times; I'd have perhaps described one staff member as brusque, but none have ever hit 'grumpy'. Queues were nice and short for two o'clock on a work day too. I'm not saying that I got a free latte and a song when I came in; it's a post office and they do post office things in a competent way, and then you go about your day.

I found this wee post office quite by chance, but I'm glad I did. It's a little bit out of the way, but handy if you're walking between George Square and Argyle Street (as I was). This is a typical combination post-office-cum-corner store deal, they sell cards, stationery, newspapers and small gifty things to distract you as you're waiting in the inevitable queue for the post office counters at the back. The staff seemed very cheery, even under the pressure of Christmas postings, and there was a good bit of banter going on between them, so it was difficult for anyone to get cross over the length of the queue. With all 5 counters on the go, things moved along pretty quickly anyway. Top tip - remember to go to the right when you enter as that's where the post office queue starts. It's difficult to see it behind the rack of cards and it is tempting to go down the left-hand side. But you'll be sorry if you do!

This is one of these post offices that sells fags but no booze, not that I was really looking for any, it's a small shop that just happens to have a small post office also. I've only been here once to buy juice before heading to a job, and that was enough, I had a ten minute wait at the counter even though I was the only one there as the server was too busy filling up the fag section to even bother looking behind her.

The staff are SOOOOO much nicer than they used to be. I was served quickly even though there was a queue. The chap that served me was really polite and quick at processing my parcel. I've avoided this post office for years because of the bad service in the past but I'll start using them again because it is well located

I went to this post office just before Christmas 2013 to collect a parcel from a friend. This parcel was left to this post office from parcel force. I took the notice card stating my name and my id and went to collect it. The employee there told me that there is no parcel in my name and asked me what I thought this parcel should be. I told her that I just received a notice card and I don't have other information. She was really surprised that I didn't know the contents of the parcel and wasn't very keen to help. Being pregnant I started to feel tired waiting at least 10 min there with nowhere to sit. After all this time she appeared with a parcel which was the one I was waiting for and she told me that the reason she couldn't find the parcel was that it wasn't in my name (though she was reading the sender's name). When I explained to her that this was the sender's name she then read the recipient's name, which was my husband's (and failed to notice mine which was just below) and claimed that my name was not on the parcel. Therefore, she couldn't give it to me. I told her that this can't be possible as my name appeared on the notice card and called my husband to come and collect it. Facing this problem with the parcel her behaviour was rude and aimed to blame the customer. The attitude was far from "we will sort everything out" attitude but completely the contrary. I tried to talk to the manager and she said that the reason of this error is parcel force that put my name on the notice card. She said that they don't have any responsibility for this and the reason that the employee was rude was that I wasn't polite to her. When I stated that if you are providing services to customers you need to be polite, especially when you have someone in front of you very pregnant, she claimed that pregnancy is not a disease and this doesn't mean that the employees need to be polite. Even though I didn't want to jump the queue but rather to be given a chair to rest while waiting for the parcel. When my husband came to collect the parcel another employee served us and to our surprise when we both saw the parcel both our names were clearly printed on the recipient's area of the box! You need to want to serve customers, if you don't it can be very complicated even to read names on a parcel. I understand the manager for wanting to help the employee but perhaps next time she should check herself what the customer claims before supporting the employee. If there was no star at this rating this is what I would go for. It's a pity that a post office branch at the centre of Glasgow could be so unprofessional and miserable.

Shocking customer service. It seems that the Post Office don't really care about the face and (lack of) personality of their business. One feels the life sucked from their very soul when staring into the cold eyes of the staff as they solemnly carry about their duties. Having to deal with idiots all day doesn't excuse poor manners and an unfriendly service. Latest fail on their part was an extremely snotty staff member who obviously begrudged helping me out with pricing information, and was offended by the order I asked my questions. A wee smile wouldn't have gone amiss if she/it was going to be so abrupt. I only go in here because I have to. This place really needs a shake up with regards to staff. The current folk would be better suited to grave digging and performing executions. A bit of an embarrassment to the Post Office. Best going to the St Vincent Street branch for much better service and less junkies.

I visited Febuary 2012 and found a big improvement with the staff, they seem to have got rid of a lot of the moaning minnies APART from the sour faced American girl, i have never seen anyone so miserable and downright rude. Wonder what charm school she went to? Jeez, this place is worth a visit just for the novelty value! The queue is usually out the door. 70% of People in the queue reek of booze/b.o./fish/and have scalp problems. You have to hold your stomach in to work your way through. The person behind you always stands too close and clearly washes in t.c.p. When you make it to the mecca of the desks you get grunted at They never have enough staff I have heard arguments that customers were overcharged The staff look like they need medication or are clearly taking too much The addresses are never verified However the post usually gets there The shop up front has a variety of booze which included buckfast, lambrini, maddog, super T's etc, which might well help you get over your visit! It's like being in a nightmare but having the smells! Wee tip,,, Saturdays are usually dead, so do your post then and save precious moments not having to endure the madness.

A post office within a shop, and not a very nice one. I have been in friendlier places, and you may consider someone in a post office to perhaps know a little about what they do and if they do it would be nice if they were free flowing with useful information, but this is not the case, I find this post office a little dreary, and at points scarey. My letter did get there and a package I sent also made it which was something. The service works, phew! Held my breath for a bit there.

AVOID at all costs. These people are rude, dismissive and completely unhelpful. I had a package redirected to them, and have had to research, prove and verify what I knew all along: it is sitting in their store room - they are just not bothered to get up and go look for it. There was one lone woman working in there who was decent and she lasted about a month. They don't do the paperwork, don't verify addresses on the special deliveries (I have receipts to prove) and are altogether sloppy and lazy. And Royal Mail wants pay rises??? FOr this nonsense??

A well situated Post Office but by far the best one in the world. They do all the usual in here including envelopes and such, but I only go because of it's situation. It isn't characterised by great customer service. It's somewhere between the wee sort of Post Office you get stuck onto a tobacconist up the back and an actual wee shop. I use it often enough through paranoia that my letters dont get where they're going with the new size/weight specification for letters, otherwise I doubt I would ever bother going.

The poster above is absolutely spot on bar the staff in the shop. Yesterday my fiancée and I saw a guy behind the counter being utterly dismissive to an elderly lady. He had the poor dear apologising profusely whilst seeming to think that he was in some way doing her a favour. At the post office part we saw the staff there tut and sneer their disapproval to one another in full view of the customers. One even talked about a customer as soon as his back was turned. Exceptionally poor service combined with a lack of manners. Smiles are verbotten!

If your buying from the shop in here then they are friendly, helpful and courteous but if you venture into the depths of hell (the post office at the back of the store), you'll be greeted by satans spawns themselves. Every friend I have spoken to about this store has the same thing to say horrible. The staff are slow, they make things way more difficult than they need to be, ask questions which are irrelevant to the item and give you a row if you drop in anything on a Saturday or Sunday apparently your only supposed to drop letters or parcels in on Mon-Fri! I have been a few times in the hope that it was just an off day and had some bad luck but the same happens every time I go, and people in front of me always come away complaining.
