Great staff. Clean & tidy. It resisted following most other charity shops when in 2021 they all hiked their prices up, massively (which led to some items being the same, and in some cases more expensive, as they were when brand new).

Given the quality of charity shops in this area i found this one to be a bit of a damp squib. The gear was plentiful but, now how can i say this without offending an entire generation the older folks....is that ok?? Aye, unless you fancy dressing up like an OAP then this place ain't for you. Ok the book section is decent and reasonably priced and may provide a reason for another visit but to be honest a couple of the other shops in the area outshine this gaf in my opinion. But hey, the best thing about this place is its proximity to a ton more charity shops in the area, for this alone its worth a glance.

This Barnardo's is a pretty standard branch of the charity shop. However, it does have a great selection of books. I didn't spot any good clothes when I popped in, in fact they mostly seemed to be of the "granny" variety. The shop is worth a look for vinyl lovers as a small collection is stocked along with dvds and, the vintage, VHS'.

For a long time, Barnando's had the edge on the other charity shops, at least for clothes, seeming to pool a higher quality of shirt and suit. The men's clothing was racked at the front of the shop, making it accessible and they priced everything fairly. While the prices have remained good and low, they don't seem to be getting the same range, leaving me to fall back on the CD collection (limited, and bulked up by some strange new CDs from a mysterious label that offers easy listening compilations) and the books- which are always various and cheap. Not cluttered up by tat or ornaments, this is a strong contender for must-visit charity clothing store of Shawlands, both male and female.
