During the test drive, not one, but three warning lights were on in the car. We were assured they would be fixed, but why have a car on the forecourt like that? When I explained the timing belt would need done because of the high mileage, the salesman said there was nothing he could do. When I explained I needed a tow bar as well, he said again, firmly, he couldn't help. When I said I could do a deal today if he gave me £500 off, as these two items would come at my own cost, he dismissed my request, saying, " £12,000 - that's the price. Not a pound off." I found this attitude really poor. That same afternoon, a showroom in Greenock sold me the same make and model of car, agreed to do the timing belt and water pump and took off £600. I know it's a seller's market in the used car market just now, but I was really put off by the hard-nosed sales approach. We also felt the man felt he was doing us a favour and was rushing us through the sale. When I tried to negotiate, he didn't like it at all. I couldn't care less about him telling me how great his FB reviews are - this was our experience. Not good enough. We won't be going back.

Went in for a quote to repair a car door and bumper. Specifically asked for the door and bumper to be quoted separately. Quote initially came quickly but was for both items together. Phoned garage every day for 9 days and asked for this to be amended. Was assured every time that this would be done shortly, but no amended quote was ever sent. Had to go to another garage.

Finally purchased my new car today after a delay due to covid. Jim was great and kept me up to date on any repairs required for MOT and RAC checks and had everything ready for me to get on my way without any hassle. Thanks Jim!

Would recommend Belmont Autos. To any Woman who may be afraid of buying a car themselves. Jim the sales man. Could not be anymore helpfull to me. Collected my lovely car yesterday . Forgot to sort my tax out. Jim sorted it on the day. So a big thanks to Jim at Belmont autos.
