“This Waterstones store follows the format of the many other Waterstone stores. However, I felt that this store is more focused on children books (upstairs) and fiction (downstairs). I saw, of course, also corners with travel, art, and history, cook books. There is no café like in some of the larger stores. This store is not so overrun. I would have enjoyed some more and also more comfortable reading areas. The attraction of a physical store is the test reading, smell and feel of real paper of real books after all, isn't it?”

“I love browsing in Waterstones. I always find the staff professional and knowledgeable. No exception in this store at all. It's over several floors and just a beautifully clean, quiet haven for book lovers. The store has a coffee shop which, though I've never used, I hear wonderful things about.Waterstones always seems to get the lighting just right too. It's well worth a visit if you find yourself in the city centre. Give yourself at least an hour to relax and enjoy the ambience.”

“This is one of the smaller branches. It has a small coffee shop, with very good pastries. The staff are excellent and most helpful. There is the feel of being in a small local bookshop, but with modern decor and layout.Whenever I visit, every few weeks, I have to steel myself to curb my spending otherwise I'd easily buy more books than I could read.....thanks to very enticing displays.Thank goodness for Waterstones loyalty card.”

“The customer service here is amazing!!! Hannah who served metoday was excellent and had a really nice friendly manner and helped show me around the store. I bought a Mountain Equipment Lumiko hooded fleece in a really lovely orange colour! Didn't have my size at first but no problem as Hannah order me in a medium size. Lovely shop, great service!”

“We had dinner at this restaurant. We were greated and seated quickly upon arrival. Our wait person was friendly and efficient. We had the fish and chips and BBQ ribs. Both were excellent. I highly recommend this restaurant.”

“All manner of books (new and old) covering a wide range of subjects; from local ie Scottish to America and beyond.Subjects include history, politics, religion as well as works of fiction. All at reasonable condition ( it is a charity book shop) and good prices. My biggest gripe is there are so many books you can lose track of time :)All in all a definite place to pass the time in and who knows, find a treasure...”

“The works is an Aladdin's cave of books, stationary, games and toys. In today's tough retail climate they have struggled and had to close some branches like my local in Rutherglen Mitchell Arcade shopping centre. They always have interesting bargains. Several times i have made purchases pertaining to my own little foible, Aircraft of WW2. At least, unlike the unfortunate Wilco they are still trading despite the economic downturn hard times?.”

“I visited here just before 5pm the other day. With some of the shutters partly down, I expected it to be closing, but it was open till 5.30pm. Plus, when you see Sauchiehall street now, can you really blame a store for being security conscious and only half open? I definitely can't - so many junkies and lowlifes in the town centre now - they seem to have multiplied like Covid since Lockdown - and never a police officer around now either.Anyway, moving on; the shop is stocked with alot of items. I found the 2 books I was looking for, but what I did notice is that particular store has far more toys and craft items than most other stores I've visited. For the size of the shop, it had very few books. The guy at the checkout was friendly enough (possibly sarcastically though) and I was glad I paid a flying visit for all of 3 minutes. If you're after a recent book, I'd recommend trying there. I picked up one that was several pounds cheaper than Amazon and hadn't even been published/made available on Amazon yet.Let's try and keep the high street alive, especially bookshops like The Works, Waterstones and W.H. Smith; after all, we often don't appreciate what we have until it's gone - i.e. Woolworths, BHS, C&A, Zavvi, Borders, etc,.”

“A lovely little thrift store that was logically laid out with helpful staff. Clothing is clearly labelled and organised by type and size. The sizes are also accurately displayed on the hangers which is a nice touch. A special thank you to Tony who took the time to chat and give my advice on what to see and do in Glasgow. You're a star!”

“Always worth popping your head in to see what's new. A wide and eclectic range of books stocked. If you're a tourist, then there is also a good Glasgow/Scottish selection. I dare anybody not to leave without purchasing at least one item!”

“The newspaper / media giant of the high street dabbling in all sorts of items books and magazines, PC storage and security, maps and guides , DVDs and CDs are all available in this store along with usual junk food such as sweets and soft drinks, it's all here tobacco, lotto, but probably not the cheapest so best to shop around. The store is set over 2 levels the escalator down but the punishment is only stairs up. The staff are unintrusive and cash outs are now mostly automated and programmed to give as many coins as possible in your change”

“Scott's service at WHSmith today was a breath of fresh air. In a time when personalization can be scarce, he brought back the charm of old-fashioned customer service. He engaged me in a genuine conversation about my purchase and made sure my purchase was wrapped with care. It's good to see that services are personalized like it used to be in the old days. Scott's warm demeanor and attention to detail left a lasting impression. Thanks to him, my bookstore visit was a delightful experience.”
