“Friendly staff, very helpful when you can't find an item you're looking for. They will even unlock a trolley for you with their special tool when you don't have a pound coin, trolley token, or any change to swap for a pound coin. They will just unlock one for you - you do need to ask, and it helps if you've already picked up a big item that won't fit in a basket. Just tell them you don't carry cash and that does the trick. The best thing about this place is actually the friendly helpful beggar who often sits outside wishing people a good day! They've recently moved the entrance to another position, and he is so helpful - maybe he has a talent for noticing when people are heading toward the wrong door?I've seen him helping older folks carry heavy items to their cars and never asks for money (though the cup he holds out infront of him gives the game away). He offers to take their trolley back and tries to give them back their pound coin, and most will refuse and tell him to keep it, its really nice to see because this guy seems to geniunely want to help without expecting a payment. In my opinion, this store should give him a paid position as their meeter and greeter. I'm sure they'd actually get less custom without him there - I know that if I, for one, walked the full length of the store and back without finding the entrance, I'd not even bother going in I'd be already too irritated! What a guy!”

“Great store, delightful variety of Asian products. I am from the England/Scotland border, so it's a fair way to travel for the products I'd like to buy. If this store had an online service, I would definitely order from them.”

“Was at farmfoods for some breakfast & OJ. There wasn't any potatoe scones left but that a delivery truck had just been unloaded. I had already mentioned I was looking for the scones but didn't want to be cheeky and ask for someone to go back and get me some. Just as I was leaving the assistant I 1st spoke to shouted me back as I was leaving. As he had went back of his own accord and got me some. I thanked him and said it was very much appreciated.I know it's there job but I have been to other shops nearby and they just thob you of or hum&haw about it. This assistant couldn't be anymore helpful as well as the good manors of the tiller who checked my shopping out. I recommend farmfoods to anyone as it is good value. It has most of what you need although there isn't a butcher area. Other than that it's great and as I said staff are polite and very helpful. Will be back”

“The Oro has a good reputation for Italian food and I do agree the food is great and the options many. I would also praise the staff for their attention, frequently came and asked if we had enough to drink, but its the portions Oro, you have to up your game, three prawns not enough for a starter. I had the spicy chicken penne pasta and although tasty there must have been third of a chicken breast chopped, definitely not enough Oro. The dessert selection was good and the tiramisu was nice but a little more generous would have been nice. The Oro overall is a good Italian restaurant with a good atmosphere and good staff but up the portions please. I Will Be Back.Vegetarian options: The options are good from pasta and pizza and nice Italian breads also plenty of dessert options.Dietary restrictions: They do advise on the menu to mention if you have dietary requirements.Parking: The parking is on the street which is metered but I think after six its free so plenty spaces but might have to walk a few yards to get spaces.Wheelchair accessibility: Oro is large inside so ample room for wheelchairs. Staff are also happy to help if required”

“If you need frozen food then this is the place for you. It even has fresh refrigerated food. It even, unbelievably, has food stored at an ambient temperature. And, plot twist, non-food items too. In all seriousness, Iceland is pretty underrated. This store has a decent range of things at good prices. Plenty of deals and nice staff at the tills. Give it a try.”

“Great wee shop. We are in every week and always find a bargain. Friendly, cheerful staff, especially Kim who has a sparkling personality and goes above and beyond everytime. The banter between staff and customers is first class, not Lee however, whose banter is rotten ?”

“Very solid Lidl near Shawlands/Newlands. Rather go here than the Morrisons beside it. Has mostly everything you could want, isn't too stressful a shopping experience generally, and the staff are good.”

“Store is more consistent than other lidil locations with the selection of products often being kept on the same place or close enough that it's not a mind melt trying to find my favs. Has lost a star because the tills are so short at the end so it can feel a little rushed packing your items.”

“American’s shopping at ALDIs in the United Kingdom. All of our favorite foods. Reasonable prices. Clean. Different brands, but otherwise similar to ALDIs in the US”

4.2Good51 Reviews

“What a fantastic store and I have to say you are mad if you don't give Aldi a visit. The stores are basic but clean and very well laid out. In this store there's a fab selection of meat, cooked meat, pre- made dinners ... all at fairly reasonable prices.I have to say I love their own verson of popular chocolate bars...they taste better (Jive, Titan and Racer). Great if u r on a budget (which we all are these days).A good selection of juices and breads... and I won't shop anywhere else for cleaning products (except Home Bargains).”
