“Good for a long weekend. Very close to shops but local bars/clubs very noisy until 3am and we were on the 2nd floor. Twin beds kept moving and bring your own TP! Excellent staff and breakfast though, easy walk from train station”

“Situated in a central location with easy access to both main line train stations, local underground and a short walk from a major bus terminal this hotel is an excellent choice for business and short break stays. It is within a few minutes walk from the historic Merchant City, George Square with The City Chambers and Major shopping centres. Staff at this Premier Inn are helpful and can give advice on almost all local sites of interest, Breakfast is excellent as are all the available menus, either at lunch or an evening meal. Well worth a visit - you will not be disapointed.”

“We had our wedding and reception here on the 12/08/23. The venue was amazing staff and service were outstanding. All the staff who helped cater our event went above and beyond to make sure that every thing even the little things were dealt with. They were friendly and engaging. Every guest there complimented the service and how great they all were. Michelle was our go to woman and she is a credit to the Castlecary. Anyone thinking of doing an event here go for it you won’t be disappointed.”

“Stayed here for 2 nights last week with my Cycling group for one of our annual events. The hotel was in a great location for riding out from the city and easy to find by people arriving on the motorway or by train to Glasgow Central. It was a short walk to a local supermarket for a few supplies and easy to walk into the city in the evening to visit a couple of characterful pubs. It's sometimes tricky managing group bookings like ours with unplanned changes of names and nights and meal bookings and so on but the staff at the hotel, on reception and in the bar and restaurant were all very patient and helpful and made it a very pleasant and stress free trip for me.”

“This review is not for the room as I didn’t stay but I did spend a whole day as part of a travel industry event and had lunch and dinner. I wanted to highlight both members (a male and female) of bar staff on duty in the morning on 28/9/23. Their service was served with warm words and both were very helpful. But one member of staff stood out today. The evening buffet dinner downstairs event had a cloakroom open and the very helpful and friendly young man there was so efficient and even remembered my jacket and pre-empted me before I had even taken my ticket out of my bag! He had an unusual accent I hadn’t heard before and he explained he was from Azerbaijan! We then went on to have a lengthy and very interesting conversation about the politics of both our countries, borders, religion, conservation (the subject he is studying), wildlife and we tried between us to save the planet. What a very interesting and knowledgeable young man and such a friendly demeanour. It was a highlight of my day and I even missed my earlier train but it was worth it! I wish him well and recognition for a job well job with friendliness and for going the extra mile with a smile. He is an asset to your hotel. Thank you”

“Very cheap and exactly as I expected. Friendly staff, quick check-in and a nice room. The room had a heater, which was better than the last hotel which I stayed in which was very cold. I wish there could be some soy milk pods in the room though.”

“Location, the design of the building exterior and the layout inside, with breakfast room, bar and meeting room downstairs are all very nicely done. Room was great for a business hotel, big enough to sleep and work, and clean. Internet worked fine, though I would not mind having a separate login and password for every room (just an additional feeling of safety). Breakfast has good options and the coffee is ok, which is all one needs. The people at the reception were always super friendly and and helpful too, which is great, especially for people like me who visit Glasgow for the first time. All in all a good experience.One note of caution though: If you want your room cleaned everyday, make sure to opt out of the "non-cleaning option" that gets you a free drink. It was absolutely fine for me, but I also didn't pay attention at check-in and found out the second day, when coming back to a messy room, that I had opted-in ?”

“Spent 2 nights here as part of our Costsaver tour. Hotel is not close to a lot of restaurants or entertainment that we could find. Lots of construction everywhere. We did find a pub "The Griffin" next block over and it was decent. Rooms were great and breakfast was pleniful. Coffee station gets very crowded with everyone trying to get their early morning jolt. Went on a great tour of Edinburg Castle one tour and shoppped the Royal Mile there.”

“The staff was exceptionally friendly, and they offered free self-parking. While the breakfast options for vegetarians were somewhat limited, the rooms were impeccably clean and met our expectations. The staff's friendliness added to the positive experience. This property is a suitable choice for families with children, making our overall stay quite enjoyable.”

“Was going to cancel based on the volume of recent poor reviews but booking was non-refundable so had to go ahead. All things considered I’m glad we went ahead. Yes, in places the hotel needs a lick of paint and refreshed, but food was good, facilities were adequate and most importantly the staff were exceptionally friendly, helpful and attentive. We had a great stay. It’s a little bit of a walk into town but we also wanted to visit the science museum so location was perfect for us.”

“Overnight stay visiting family, so just needed a bed, hot day and night but slept reasonably well, compact room with all facilities we wanted, we had our dog who was welcome for £5, cheaper than other hotels we had seen, definitely recommend,didn't have breakfast so can't comment, all in all very welcoming ?”

“Right in the heart of Glasgow, looking onto George Square, it’s location is excellent. Staff very friendly and room was large and warm. Breakfast was a little disappointing- hot food items didn’t look appealing and the service of these was slow. Overall though a nice hotel which I would stay in again.”
